Creekside Cottage - Mountain Lovers Dream

Enjoy a picturesque mountain retreat -- for a romantic weekend or a family getaway.

Leave the city behind and listen to the beautiful sounds of Fountain Creek rushing through the property just 20 feet from your front door. At the base of the Pikes Peak Mountain range, this charming rustic cabin with gas fireplace, will be your oasis in the mountains, with all the cabin amenities you need to be comfortable.

The space:
All you can ask for in a mountain retreat. Accessible main floor living, this home has a stone gas fireplace in the living room, full kitchen (with all amenities) and dining area, 2 queen bedrooms and 1 bathroom.

Amenities include strong and stable WiFi, YouTube-TV with Smart TV app access to NetFlix, Amazon Prime, YouTubeTV and HBOMax. An Alexa music system on site and a local land-line phone for emergencies.

Guest access:
Full access to 2-acre property and views of the creek and 360-degree mountain views including Waldo Canyon and the foothills of Pikes Peak. You'll have access to the entire 2-acre space located at the end of a dead end road in a quiet mountain neighborhood.

Other things to note
Your dogs are welcome, but you must notify host of breed and the number of dogs that will be accompanying your stay (max 2 dogs). There will be an additional $25 cleaning fee per dog. We love dogs, but they are not allowed on any furniture, and owners must pick up after their pet. Cats are not allowed.

Lastly the home has a septic, so please refrain from flushing anything besides toilet paper and normal stuff down the drain. And we’re on city water, so the water is fresh and tastes excellent.

Access was horrible
1 dirt road to get to home.....1 to 3 parked carsm blocked the road the entire time. I had to put my car in 4wd to drive up a hill to get by. The neighbors blocking the road looked scary. Wouldnt talk to me. Scary area around the home.

Nice, clean but smells terrible
The property was a little hard to find. But, I didn't read directions from owner very well. Everything was nice. But, the place smells like my Grandmothers old home in Kansas where my Uncle lived. He smoked cigarettes and they had dogs. And, I can't stand the way that old home smells. Exact same scent as this place. The bed I slept in wasn't that comfortable happy it was just 1 night. I couldn't of had handled a longer term stay. The owner was very nice and cordial. But, think the place I stayed in was a converted garage. I wouldn't book this location again.

Close to all the attractions
We had a nice stay just outside of Colorado Spings. By far the best part of our stay was the close proximity of the house to the major tourist attractions in the area! The neighborhood was a little rough, but we never felt unsafe and neighbors seemed friendly. The house was stocked well enough, with a nice welcome basket of local stuff. My only complaints would be that the house sleeps 4 except they only provided us with 3 towels and 3 washcloths, and we couldnt find any extra bedding for our youngest who slept on the couch. The house does not seem to have a/c which is fine, except a few of the windows did not have screens so we couldn't open them. Overall it was a decent stay

Quiet Relaxing Cabin
The home was in a semi secluded area, had neighbors but very quiet area. Very clean. The only thing missing was a covered porch so you could sit outside to enjoy the Colorado rain but definitely not a deal breaker! Overall, loved our stay!

The cottage was perfect location for a wedding we were attending. Great listing for hikes and restaurants close by in the cabin reference guide. WiFi was very helpful for our stay.

Great weekend with family and pups!
This little place was exactly what we needed—a dog-friendly jumping off place (well-located) to spend a laid back Easter weekend. The house was clean and the host was very thoughtful—we appreciated the visitor’s guide they provided, as well as the kitchen and toiletry basics. (You never know when you’re going to forget the cooking spray—and, it seems like a silly thing, but we’ve stayed in rentals that did not provide coffee filters for their machines. I was so glad to find coffee filters.) communication was great and we all had a wonderful time. I rated “location and neighborhood” four stars because the approach to this property looks kind of junky. Once you reach the end of the road, where this property is located, it is well-kept.

Poor condition and lacking privacy
This location is in visibly poor condition, bedding has rips and stains, and was just not terribly comfortable. Adding to this, it just didn't feel very private. We ended up finding another place to stay.

sweet little cabin by the creek
Nice, clean small cabin with everything you need for a home away from home. Couldn't quite figure out the tv, but owner left some generous snacks and drinks and lots of local info and house was comfy and convenient to Green Mountain Falls where we attended the Skyscape show. Great spot. Would recommend. House could easily fit a family of four...there were 2 of us.

Not as shown online, would not stay again
The house is in no way a log cabin. The other property is. We chose this place based on the pictures and description of the property. We never saw any of the acreage claimed to be available, nor was it mentioned in the house guide book. There's no A/C and couldn't open the windows because the screens had holes in them and the 1 bedroom with a window had scary weeds right next to it. The bed needs to be replaced, very bouncy and I could hear the springs popping every time I got in and out of it. The second bedroom does not have a window and it's not really it's own room. A wall that doesn't go all the way to the ceiling was installed in the living room. No extra linens provided. Bathroom is not big enough for 4 people, especially lack of vanity space. Positives - shower pressure was great and a fan was provided.

Cute, quiet, functional!
Overall a fantastic place to stay if you're looking to spend some time up here in the mountains! It was quiet, clean, and stocked with household amenities (except food of course), so there was no need to bring towels, sheets, or so on. The owner left a very lovely and detailed guide for the cabin and everything surrounding, which helped a lot for getting our bearings and understanding what to do for checkout. Furthermore, the kitchen was fully functional with silverware and various cooking ware, which my partner and I used to cook some meals together while we stayed there. Overall a very nice and well-built cabin, and one which served us nicely for our week's stay! About the only downsides to note were that the property doesn't look like an archetypal log cabin on the outside (although I somewhat suspected that from the pictures already), and that the road down to the cabin itself is quite bumpy, and possibly treacherous for less powerful vehicles. But neither of those things were an issue for us, and hopefully won't be an issue for most folk

Weeklong trip to Cascade Colorado
The property was in a quiet location in Cascade. Lovely little place close by to a lot of attractions and hiking locations around Colorado Springs. The property had everything I needed in my 4 night stay and would stay here again if able.
