You can’t beat the location with this cozy home in the center of Colorado Springs! Perfect for exploring, it is conveniently close to downtown and Old Colorado City (15-20 minute walk or cheap Uber ride to each), Red Rock Canyon, Garden of the Gods, and charming Manitou Springs. A gem of the city, Monument Valley Park, is within walking distance across the nearby I-25 pedestrian bridge, where you’ll find pickleball courts, endless trails for running/walking, a basketball court, a YMCA pool, and baseball fields.
The home, a shotgun house, was built in 1918 and is filled with charm. It has been updated over the past few years to include modern touches, but it still maintains an old cottage feel. The front of the house features an open layout with a relaxing living room and fully equipped kitchen. Enjoy cooking in the large kitchen with a gas range, a big sink, and a large butcher-block island. The multi-purpose kitchen island is a perfect place to enjoy a meal, have a drink, play a game, or catch up dreaded work emails. Toward the back of the house, you’ll find two bedrooms with a comfortable queen bed in each, along with a shared bathroom. In the back corner of the house is a laundry room with a washer and dryer, fully stocked with laundry essentials. Although the house does not have central air conditioning, which is typical of Colorado due to our cool dry nights, there is a large window A/C unit in the living room and a small A/C unit in each bedroom.
Outside the house, enjoy Colorado’s 300 days of sunshine in this spacious and fenced backyard. It features a large patio with a dining area, gas grill, gas fireplace, and corn hole set. The patio is shaded in the afternoon making it comfortable on warm nights, or feel free to light up the fireplace on cool nights. Whatever your preference, you’ll surely be able to relax and unwind here after a busy day of sightseeing and exploring.
Beyond loving the character and location of this westside charmer, what I personally love most is that there are so many hiking and mountain biking trails nearby. You also can’t go wrong with the endless fantastic restaurants, bars, and coffee shops in the area, especially downtown and in Old Colorado City. I hope that you’ll find this house to be a perfect base camp for your next adventure in Colorado Springs.
