Remote location beside mosquito breeding ground. Killed over 20 of them in our room and still got many bites, as screens were either torn, poorly fitted or missing. Very poor quality bedding and towels (torn, frayed and thredbare). Cheap accomodation but still over priced for what you get! Internet was a joke. Could not get it unless you are in the enterance way. Would never stay there again!

Did not get what we booked online
Beware Hotels.com listing: it said 1 double bed and bathroom (with breakfast included) when we booked, but when we arrived at this hotel, which is out in a rural area, far from any other place to stay, we were put in a room WITHOUT bathroom and told that breakfast would be an extra charge. Even when I showed the booking to the manager and she called her husband, we were still not given what we'd booked online at Hotels.com. He even threatened (on the phone) to call the police because we complained about this. So do not expect to get what you see online.

Amazing location, very calm and beautiful, has a nice German style restaurant attached, nice owners as well. There was one glitch, my Hotels.com booking mentioned that breakfast was included but the owners denied this and told that they do not provide free breakfast any more. It costed an extra Eur 4.90 per day which was unexpected cost and was one thing which I did not appreciate about the visit.

out of the way but awesome
a little out of the way but by car was great. Very comfortable room and great breakfast but wifi was a little spotty. Otherwise a gear stay!

Disappointed
Firstly the hotel location is not very well sign posted. My SATNAV took me to the address only to find that it was a barn or a large derelict building. I arrived at night and I had to around twice in my car to find the correct way which was not on the main road but to the back of this large old building. There was no one around but I found my room key on a desk with my reservation printout. The staircase was dark and first floor’s lights came on as I looked for my room. Later I found some dark and some light hair on my bed sheet which was a clear sign that it was previously used bed sheet. The room was very basic, no English TV channel; the WIFI did not work in my room. No ventilation system found in the room. Next morning I went to the breakfast room and to the back of this I found a desk with office equipment and stationary on it; this was the hotel office as there was no lobby or reception area in this hotel. I had to shout ‘Hello’ and a young girl emerged from an adjacent room. She could speak not a word of English and we had to communicate through a translation website. She told me that I had to pay extra for my breakfast; on my reservation page a Free Breakfast was included. The breakfast was basic continental with nothing hot or warm except tea or coffee. Overall experience was a great big disappointment! In my view if you are visiting this area you should look elsewhere for your hotel stay.

Good value.
This small hotel was a little out of the way but having a car and SAT-nav. this made very little difference - it was really nice and quiet here. The family who run the place were very friendly and kept it nice and clean, and the inclusive breakfast was quite adequate. Good value for money. By the way, the 5% tourist tax does not apply here, it is only in Cologne city itself!

Clean and nice atmosphere, good breakfast.
Located in outside of the Koln,but is quiet and clean place. Beautiful country side, a bit isolated but it is located in the middle of green, yards. If you like that kind of placw, this is really good. I enjoyed the place, quite, good view, peaceful country side. But the breakfast was really good.

Feels like home
We stayed at this hotel for a 3-day family visit. We were impressed by the cleanliness of the rooms, the quietness of the area around the hotel, and, above all, the friendliness of the owners. The breakfast was excellent, better than at some 4/5 star hotels. Everything about this hotel made us feel at home, and we will stay there again.

De bediening was heel onprofessioneel en boertig. De vrouw des huizes was niet echt vriendelijk. Het ontbijt hebben we overgeslagen aangezien het er alles behalve smakelijk en vers uitzag, ook was er niet veel keuze. Voor ons nooit meer deze bestemming.

Da ich einen frühen Flug in Köln hatte, habe ich dieses flughafennahe Hotel gewählt. Mach anstrengendem Messetag wollte ich noch etw. essen, leider hatte das Restaurant (Hotel liegt etw. außerhalb) Ruhetag. Die sehr nette Hotelbeaitzerin hat mir stattdessen peraönlich ein liebevolles Abendbrot gemacht und sicher gestellt, dass ich Suchbegriff zu trinken habe. Sehr aufmerksam!
