The River Derwent is a highly sought after river amongst anglers providing rich pickings of salmon and trout. As long as you have a National Rod Licence you may fish on the family’s beat. The popular Cumbrian town of Cockermouth, birthplace of William Wordsworth, is just a short walk away. In fact, the National Trust Wordsworth House is just a few minutes walk. Your nearest supermarket and a couple of pubs serving great food and local cask ales are also a few minutes walk away. The main town centre is also easily reached on foot. Cockermouth is a thriving market town full of hidden surprises at every turn. It boasts a great selection of pubs, quaint restaurants, micro-breweries, local craft shops, independent coffee houses, delicatessens, speciality shops and of course, well known retailers and branded stores too.
