This is the second time we've stayed here and both times were immaculate. If you are looking for a restorative weekend away, this is the place. It has a pond for cold plunging, a sauna in the basement, outdoor shower and hot tub on the porch. It also has air hockey table and the indoor fireplace keeps it cozy all day and night. I love the nostalgia decor as well, including but not limited to a fabulous DVD collection to really take a trip back down memory lane. Communication is great with the hosts, never too much but always responsive and helpful. Can't say enough good things.. We love this spot!

Our second stay here was just as enjoyable as our first. There's a lovely pond for swimming, hot tub, sauna and a very well equipped kitchen. The owners are nearby, and very helpful. We would definitely go again!

Amazing Cabin
We spent our honeymoon here and it was absolute perfection. The pictures do not do it justice. It is even more beautiful than it looks. The cabin was gorgeous and very clean, and the property is breathtaking. Julie could not have been more helpful & responsive. We had an amazing stay & we will absolutely be back again.

A wonderful Property to visit.
A wonderful Property to visit, 98% total privacy, No noisy neighbors, Basically no sounds at all aside from the surrounding nature and even then it was still quiet. Felt at home, But more of a dream home then the home we are used to.

Too short of a stay
We had an awesome few days in a peaceful setting. This was the best stocked vrbo we have visited and Julie thought of everything! She met us at check in to review the property and offered suggestions of local food and beverage places that we could go to. We relaxed, enjoyed the hot tub, fished and went to the Woodstock Museum. Definitely will be visiting again.

Peaceful and relaxing
Julie was helpful, kind and available if we needed. The property was quiet, with some lovely, easy trails to enjoy the outdoors, and equally cozy indoors to relax by the fire. Although you don't need to leave the property, there is plenty to see nearby! We loved our time there!

Great time!
This cabin is absolutely beautiful. We had a wonderful stay. We enjoyed kayaking on the pond, sitting by the fire, seeing the local sites, and my daughter loved the swing set. The owners are extremely helpful and respond back to any questions within minutes. We highly recommend this property!

A Perfect Stay
A beautiful tranquil retreat that provides activities for any age group without having to leave the property. Equipped for outdoor or indoor activities for all. Sauna, Soaking Tub, Jacuzzi on deck, pond for swimming, tubing, kayaking. Hiking trail, fire pit, well-equipped kitchen, DVD library game room, etc. Julie and Bill are great hosts and really enjoyed the vision they have created

Amazing house + stay!
The house is lovely and our family of 5 (incl. 3 early teen boys) had an amazing stay. There was so much to do - DVDs, board games, foosball, air hockey, frisbee and kayaking/swimming in the pond - that we rarely left the premises. The house had more than enough space, and was well stocked and clean. Julie was super communicative. We had a great stay and look forward to going back!

This was our 4th stay at Moonrise and we will be booking it again!
The cabin and property are amazing! Very clean and well maintained.And the location is in close proximity to places we want to visit. The cabin has all of the amenities one could ask for. The huge trees, the pond, and the outdoor deck create a sense of tranquility.Julie and Bill Rozar are the perfect hosts and are available if needed. I was so happy to meet both of them. We are looking forward to our next vacation there!

Amazing private getaway
Everything was amazing. We decided on this location because of the privacy, and it was perfect. Not only was it a private place, but we had our own lake with kayaks, hot tub, game tables, and any small amenity that could be thought of. Everything was extremely clean, and you could tell the owners care about their guest's comfort by all the small details. We communicated with Julie, and she explained everything, they were happy to answer any questions and was happy to come if we needed help or stay away and give us privacy. We are definitely looking forward to coming back.

this property is a special Suprise.
my 2nd time here. owners are one of the best I ever dealt with. if you want solid peace and quiet this is the place. 30 anchors, walking trail, fishing pond with BIG BASS, fire pit, playground for young kids, sauna, jacuzzi, BBQ, list goes on and on.... just have to bring food and cloths. everything else is already there. in town in few min. unplug from everyday grind. this is the place.

Perfect Upstate Getaway
We had an incredible weekend at The Getaway at Moonrise Pond. The house is beautiful and had lots of rooms to either congregate or take some time to yourself. The sauna and jacuzzi provide much deserved relaxation time, and with the jacuzzi outside, its a gorgeous view of the woods or the night sky. The air hockey and foosball table are a super fun addition and Julie was a fantastic host. She even met us on arrival to give us a little tour and answer any questions we might have. She was also available for any questions throughout the weekend and provided a welcoming stay. Highly recommend this spot, we loved the seclusion and staying in and cozy during the winter but I’m sure the pond and property is beautiful to enjoy during the warmer months as well.

Incredible house with pond and sauna!!!
This house is incredible. Our group of friends and family enjoyed our stay here. Everything was as described - was even more spacious than the pictures. The house was very clean and fresh. We enjoyed the hot tub, sauna, air hockey and game table on the lower level. Kitchen and living room were spacious and open. Julie is very friendly, she was responsive when we had a question. She provide a lot of useful info. Private pond is a good bonus for ours adult children for fishing. I want to thank him again for everything and hope to be able to rent his place again in the future.

10/10 would stay again!
Really nice accommodations. The property is very secluded and really well-stocked. You won't want for anything during your stay. The kitchen had a massive selection of amenities, as we did a lot of cooking during our stay. The house felt really large and offered plenty of privacy for all the guests. We traveled as a group of three couples, and it really felt like everyone had their own private space. The hot tub was large enough for all the guests, and was very clean. Since it was located on the covered porch, even when it was raining, we were able to enjoy the hot tub. The whole house was really thoughtfully arranged and decorated for a comfortable stay. We enjoyed hiking on the trails on the property, made a fire in the firepit one night, and visited the nearby casino. The property owners were super kind and helpful, and communicated the directions for check-in/check-out very clearly. All-in-all we had a great stay, and would definitely visit again.

2nd time around!
There were 4 of us guys doing our annual trip to relax and fish. We stayed here in 2019 and came back this year. Beautiful pond, great firepit; spacious deck; clean house; no musky smell like some other places we've been to. Julie was awesome with communication and checking to see if things were ok. The only thing I would say is there are some Art pieces hanging on the walls throughout the inside of the house of nude women showing their private parts. It didn't bother us bc there were no kids. I get that it's art but it's more appropriate for an art exhibit...just not sure if parents with kids would appreciate that.

Moonrise Kingdom
My party of 6 adults had an amazing experience staying for 2 nights at Bill & Julie's Moonrise Pond. I won't bore you with the convenience of the home in relation to Bethel Woods and other great communities, such as Calicoon. What separates this property from others is the thoughtfulness of the owners. Bill and Julie are already one step ahead of their guests with regards to having a great time. They truly went above & beyond. Many reviewers have touched on the big selling points: the lake, the hot tub, the fire pit, luxurious queen size beds and more. Those features certainly were as described & wonderful. What sets Moonrise Pond apart are the little details, availability all necessary cooking supplies...oscillating fans in every bedroom...crystal clear instructions about the Wifi & all other electronics...the piano being perfectly tuned...texts from the owners with local tips...slippers of varying sizes to wear in the home. You will never need to run to the store for "that 1 thing we forgot"....Bill already knows you forgot it and he's provided it. Thanks Bill! We cooked 3 full meals and the kitchen was better stocked with utensils than the home of Bed & Bath & Beyond's CEO. We also really enjoyed walking the various trails behind the house, playing badminton in the yard, and the automatic fire place in the living room. After a weekend at this home, there are absolutely zero "con's" to mention. Bill and Julie have truly thought of it all! We loved our stay and hope to return soon for a drum circle.
