"We love the Colonial Beach area! This is our third vacation in the area and this house was fantastic. Great location with short walks to awesome restaurants and close to the water. The accommodations were very comfortable and the house was spotless. Marcie (owner) was very accommodating in changing our reservations at the last minute due a major snowstorm in mid-February, but we were easily able to shift our reservation to mid-March thanks to her flexibility and assistance. "Fabulous doesn't even begin to describe how wonderful our time was at Blue Crab Cottage...the cottage was absolutely perfect for our family of 5, as well as our dog Princess. The views were spectacular...the host was so friendly and helpful...the kids loved chatting with Mr Chris and meeting his dogs, who were the sweetest welcoming committee. We had a great stay, and we hope to come back for another stay during our next trip to MD. "

"The host is amazing and went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed. The house is gorgeous and very comfortable. All the comforts of home and spacious. The property is well maintained and has a private backyard. And they are dog friendly. I travel with my dog all the time and I really needed a spot to stay on short notice that allowed dogs. 10 stars from me."

"We spent a long weekend at this house to escape the hustle and bustle of our busy lives for our wedding anniversary. My favorite parts were watching the sunrise against the Potomac River and relaxing in the hammock. It was so quiet, save for the occasional motor boat cruising by on the far side of the river. The house had all the basic necessities, and met all of our expectations. If you’re looking for a peaceful waterfront getaway, give this house a try. "

"The property and the cottage are just beautiful [very quiet] and incredibly well appointed. The bed is super cozy. There is no kitchen but the coffee station was great to have. Note that the cottage shares the property with the main house. My husband and I enjoyed sitting by the river multiple times during our stay and we really appreciated our hosts’ hospitality and communication. Thank you for the beautiful respite!"

"We stayed for a long weekend at the Summerlin Home, and loved it. All of the small details made the trip so much more enjoyable. From the single use toiletries in the bathroom, to the fully stocked kitchen with all of the essentials no detail was overlooked. It was a vacation rental that felt like home. The host were amazing, and extremely accommodating. It seemed they genuinely cared if we had a good trip, and were willing to help make it better if need be. "

"The view was spectacular! It suited our needs and we overall loved the place and enjoyed our stay very much. For the price we paid we weren’t happy with the cleanliness when we got there. None of the furniture was very comfortable in the main family room. There were no cushions on some of the chairs and the furniture needed some attention! The outside needed a lot of attention as well. Even just a lawn would’ve been nice. But I will say we enjoyed ourselves very much and would come back again! "

"The place had was great, hot tub overlooking private beach on the Potomac. Kitchen had nearly everything you could need. Very responsive host. There is spotty cell service at the house, but the WiFi helps. If I was going to add anything to this rental, it would definitely be a full-length mirror. "
