Our luxurious private villa is the perfect escape for those who wish to experience the essence of Costa Rica at its finest. Blending rustic charm with fantastic amenities and a colorful tropical style, the villa is less then a minute walk away to one of the most beautiful beaches in Costa Rica! And just a few minutes drive from the booming surf town of Santa Teresa, and yet secluded enough to offer you total tranquility during your vacation.
Surrounded by lush green jungle and wild gardens, it includes 6 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, a fully stocked guest kitchen, comfortable living room with flat screen smart TV, private swimming pool, BBQ area, dining room, pool table and much more..
The villa can accommodate up to 18 people - and if you are a larger group we have 2 extra bungalows on the property so it can accommodate up to 23 people! Making it ideal for families or groups of friends traveling together, as well as special occasions such as weddings and other celebrations. Book this one-of-a-kind property for a vacation in paradise you will never forget.

Our spacious suites throughout the villa are all fully air-conditioned with private baths and hot water, each decorated in a unique style inspired by the nearby tropical forest, the ocean, Costa Rica, Cuba and Mexico.
Linens, towels and daily housekeeping are included. Excellent wifi is available throughout the rooms and common areas of the lodge. Filtered drinking water is always available at no charge.

The multilingual staff at Villa Havana are happy to provide information on the best sights and activities in the surrounding area. Yoga, surf lessons and surf trips, horseback riding, hiking, ATV tours and fishing can be arranged by the tour desk, at no additional charge. We have visited Costa Rica 4 times. This area by far was our least favorite. Two weeks before our trip we received notification that our host had been changed. Efforts to get information about our check- in process yielded nothing. I finally had to contact VRBO to find out what was going on. The day before our flight we got that information stated check-in was at 3:00 and the address. I was trying to coordinate 3 families When we arrived in Cobano, we received texts telling us repeatedly about 3:00 check-in. Got It! We arrived at the property at 3:30 only to find the house a total disaster. Apparently the visitors before had massive parties. The house was in no shape. I contacted VRBO and was told to work it out with host. Unacceptable. Finally, at 7:00 the house was "ready". Problems: Kitchen: No hot water, refrigerator rocked forward every time opened and leaked water, the stove did not work properly. Bedrooms: If you like living in a cave it is perfect. No windows or natural light. Beach Access: down a very busy road with no shoulders. We had two children - scary. The road is strewn with litter. Beach: LOTS of trash! My daughter and I actually found two hypodermic syringes with needles still intact. Pluses: pool was nice - when the pool guy showed up to clean it. Yasmina was amazing helping with laundry and basic clean-up. The wildlife: monkeys, iguanas, geckos, butterflies was fun for all. Would not recommend for the price!

The house was flooded after Friday’s rain. All rooms and specially the kitchen fully flooded, even though water was removed the house remained wet the whole time. Random people came in without notifying or us knowing who they were. No locks on the house’s door so we couldn’t lock at night. People from outside (UberEats) could walk in and appear in the middle ok the house without any notice or security checks. Bathrooms needed to be fixed. Kitchen stove was bad, it leaked gas so after using it we had to disconnect it. Overall we were dissatisfied with the experience and the house.

Fantastic Vacation
We had a great spring break at Havana Lodge in Malpaís. The lodge was beautiful, the pool was amazing, and the location was perfect. When we had questions, they were answered within minutes. We couldn’t light the grill, and someone was over within 5 minutes to assist. I’d love to go back. So relaxing.

We loved our stay! The private pool is a must, the location was great. We loved the uniqueness of the property. It was in great location for the beach, jungle, and a town! May possibly book here again for a Holliday with a big group of family!

Wonderful Family Vacation
Far exceeded our expectations. Well equipped kitchen and the daily service of the bedrooms, common area and pool were exceptional. We had five private lockable bedrooms each with its own bathroom and shower and one had a jacuzzi. The beds were all large and comfortable. We had an extended family of grandpa and his two kids families with kids from 8 to 19 for a total of 10. We had the entire space to ourselves. We hit great weather in mid June which was supposed to be the start of rainy season. The rooms would have easily accommodated 4 or 5 more people. The pool was kept clean and our kids enjoyed playing billiards on the pool table. We had a number of animals visit us including monkeys, iguanas, toads, a kitten which stayed around a couple dogs and something that looked like a mix between a squirrel and a skunk (smelled like a skunk) but didn’t bother us. There were plenty of nearby activities. One word of caution, if you drive from Liberia, don’t blindly follow Google maps as it will lead you to places where you have to ford several rivers. Each member of our group had their own favorite activity ranging from the safari/zip lining at Ponderosa near Liberia, to horseback riding, fishing, riding Atv’s, visiting the nearby waterfalls or beaches or just relaxing at the pool. The only negative is to beware of their no cancellation for any reason policy. We had an issue arise where we wanted to cancel several months before our stay but they wouldn’t let us Luckily itworked out.

AMAZING STAY
Excellent guest experience and upmost service. Daily cleanings, at home massages, easy access just off the main road to busy Santa Teresa. Multiple beach entrances near our property and the rooms were amazing. Beautiful design, large and cool. Kitchen was stocked for cooking if needed, but we ordered local delivery most of our stay (easy delivery instructions). Private pool with shallow entrance for kids, loved it! Would definitely stay again.

Ideal Costa Rica Property Near Beautiful Surf Beach
The style of this property is the quintessential home in tropics with an inviting pool, an open area living room, dining room and semi enclosed kitchen with bedrooms that have air conditioning. The stone floors, wood work, tropical plants and trees made it feel like you were staying in nature but had all the creature comforts. We had 10 from our family staying here and the place couldn’t have been more perfect for us. We made breakfast most days and a few dinners in the fully equipped kitchen. There’s no ac in the kitchen but the wonderful on-site housekeeper Jasmina got us an extra fan immediately when we asked. Since it is in the jungle and the common areas are open air you do get a variety critters coming through usually at night but the kitchen can be shut up tight so we never had them invade our food. The night after it rained the frogs were really loud so, as any seasoned traveler should know, be sure to bring ear plugs. We enjoyed the pool throughout the day between adventures and going to the beach and played pool nightly. The closest beach has a really nice left break for surfing when the tide is medium to high, at low tide to surf dies down and the rock reef is a bit dicey. The only slight problem was the pool deck and it’s also the path to the house had large drains that made it a bit difficult for my mom to walk over, we had to assist her as for her it was a bit difficult. It wasn’t a problem for anyone else and we will definitely come stay here again.

Amazing property w
This was so far the best property I have ever stayed in. There were ten of us staying here. Tons of space inside and outside. The pool was awesome and it made it hard for us to want to leave on excursions. The cleaners changed sheets daily, gave us fresh pool and room towels, cleaned the floors and counters and even did all our dishes. Florencia the host was easy to communicate with and extremely fast at responding to any questions we had. We also saw tons of animals on the property including monkeys and iguanas. Staying here was one of the highlights of our trip.

Paradise for a week!!
We had a wonderful time at Villa Havana with our 4 adult children and their significants and 3 grandchildren ages 1,3, and 5. Yasmina prepared wonderful breakfasts several mornings. The entire staff was so friendly and we felt so pampered. The rooms were cleaned and all the beds made each day. Dishes were washed. The open air living space was just perfect!! Each suite was different and had its own unique feel. The pool was clean and maintained daily. Florencia was outstanding to work with, very responsive and so helpful. Truly we cannot recommend this place enough. It is open air so that comes with some bugs and visits from animals, but we expected that. It was just so perfect for our family. We left today and miss it already!

Amazing Villa!!
I cannot say anything bad about this amazing Villa!! From booking it for 14 of us, to communicating with Lucy throughout the process to arrange special dinners, breakfasts, and excursions. She was an amazing concierge! Loved her!! Lucy and Yasmina greeted us on arrival and made us feel so welcome. The place is beautiful, from the gorgeous pool, to each incredible room! Every need was taken care of! Yasmina made sure the house was stocked, we had clean towels daily and if we had an issue, like a leaky roof one night from incredible amounts of rain, that it was fixed. She is also a GREAT cook! Breakfast was amazing!! Every excursion Lucy helped us arrange was incredible, and the guides were so great!! You will see animals like iguanas, monkeys, squirrels and birds right from your pool area. Santa Teresa is such a cute town too! Lots of restaurants, bars, shops and nice beaches very close. Definitely rent a 4 wheel drive to get there though!! The roads are rough. We had an amazing time and will be back!! Pura Vida!!!

Havana Heaven!
This property was all it was advertised...and more! We had a planned gathering for our combined families due to recent marriage, and it could not have been more perfect. The individual, well apportioned room were ideal. Gorgeous private bathrooms. Beautiful pool provided such a relaxing environment for all of us. The loft gave us space for yoga and meditation. It really was ideal. Our 'housekeeper', Yasmina was so friendly and her staff was attentive without being intrusive. The location was wonderful as well-just out of town enough to feel secluded...but close enough to run into town for groceries. Renting quads is a must BTW-the only way to get around. HIGHLY recommend this and cannot wait to return!

Our experience was beyond our expectation! Friendly and very responsive staff, clean, and well maintained made our experience very positive and enjoyable. Due to the power outages one of the tv went bad and they replaced it within the following day. They have access to streaming channels and excellent internet. Confortable beds and kitchen with everything you need. Beach is 1/4 mile away in a road filled with monkeys, iguanas, macaws and other birds. I would definitely come back!

One of the coolest places we've ever stayed
The house layout is superior and the decor in and out gives you an authentic feel of culture. The bedrooms fit each family quite nicely. We hung out around and in the pool a lot. The garden is an actual jungle with many types of tropical plants, its completely enclosed and private. Scarlet Macaws and monkeys would come by in which we were in total awe of. We could walk to the beach in a couple minutes to watch the sun go down which was always breath taking. Also we would walk about 20 minutes toward Santa Teresa along the beach to play in the ocean. The staff always had smiles. We enjoyed our stay of 12 days.

The property is lovely and the pictures are quite accurate. Our family enjoyed our stay there. Elena the concierge, Yasmina the housekeeper were all wonderful. The only thing would be that in the dry season the road is very dusty so walking into town wasn't really an option. Other than that, great place.

We gathered 3 generations from Costa Rica and California ages 9 months to 74 years. Surfers found beautiful waves short drives away. Walkable into town for coffee and meals. But why leave paradise?

Fantastic Chill Spot
Had a group of ten people. We rented out the place for three days and it worked out famously. Getting into Santa teresa was easy-particularly with the bikes they offer. Allowed to explore the neighborhood down to the national forest. An accessible beach is right across the way. Heading back, the place offered a great kitchen for cooking and just a wonderful area to hang out. Natalia made everything so easy. She helped organize pick ups for my lazy friends from Tambor and was super conscientious about all our admittedly inane requests. The trip was made better by staying here.

Welcome to the Jungle
As a large family of 10 we had a great time. The home was pretty much what we expected minus a few visits from little skunks (welcome to the jungle). We are aware that pets are a large part of the culture, so we weren't surprised of the cat that kept us company. Just not expecting the suprise the cat left on the floor the 1st morning. All in all this was a wonderful place to stay and we would recommend it.

Secluded traditional Costa Rican villa
Villa fit our needs and wants perfectly. Each room was ensuite for every couple with us with A/C. The open air main house always had a breeze flowing with a great relaxed and tranquil feel. When at the villa we spent many hours chilling in the pool and watching the monkeys and exotic birds. The restaurant across the road was amazing... and we also walked across to the camp ground every evening to watch the sunsets. I would definitely return. I would also suggest to the owners that they need to take a closer look at the kitchen supplies. No wine glasses and only 3 regular glasses and nearly all of the utensils were on their last legs.

Beautiful place with lots of great space!
We all loved Villa Havana, it is not far from town, close to the beach, the grounds are amazing and the rooms were all very nice. We love the common areas as we had 8 in our group so there was space to be together and space to call your own. All of the people associated with this property were wonderful and thoughtful! We would absolutely recommend it to anyone!!
