This property was perfect for our family in town for DePauw graduation. We were able to have some friends over one night to enjoy the deck overlooking the pond. Could use some updates and declutterring but overall great stay.
6 of our family stayed here after a wedding; there was way more room than needed, but it was nice to be able to spread out; the location and grounds are gorgeous; the beds were comfortable with plenty of extra blankets if needed; they even had coffee in the kitchen, which my husband greatly appreciated; someone missed a pair of socks that a previous renter had left; that is why the four stars; the manager was very communicative and helpful; we would stay here again if we are in the area.
Just as advertised, a lakeside cottage for 8 - quiet!
Just 3 guys - with room for 8 if they could've made it - overnight during meetings at DePauw University. A night time entry -- SO glad to see the green "5955" sign across from the driveway!
Our host put a dozen eggs in the refrig and coffee in the cupboard. There was firewood if we could have used the fire pit. All we really needed.
A very quiet, peaceful place right by the pond. I could imagine this would be perfect for a family gathering, with plenty room for kids, and bunkbeds as well. We enjoyed it greatly.
House was just as advertised and really perfect for Indy 500 weekend! A little remote and not much around for shopping or restraunts but we found what we needed and a nice pizza in Amo. Great firepit and a deck with picnic table on the water. Comfy beds, 2 bathrooms with showers. Owner had excellent communication. Couldn't ask for more for a quiet and comfortable house!
Very nice location. Plenty of room for a large family. Beautiful lake on the property. We loved our stay, the only thing I would say is that the living room furniture needs to be updated.
We had a wonderful time in this home. Plenty of room for us to gather, comfy beds, great big kitchen table. We will be back in the summer to utilize the outdoor options next time!
Stayed at the property with family for a wedding held in Lizton on 6/14. Property was perfect for what we needed it to be. Rooms were large, plenty of beds, air conditioning worked great. The little ones loved the ducks. Our younger kids enjoyed the small boats on the lake, and set up a disc golf course in the front yard. Don was super friendly and greeted us shortly after we arrived, offering to let the little ones see his animals across the street. Essentially, it's a good ol' ranch farm house on a lake. Enjoyed our stay!
We were in town for our daughter’s college graduation and then also hosted a small group of friends one evening. It was great! We also loved the three ducks that visited regularly!
We really enjoyed out stay. It was quiet and peaceful and on a beautiful pond with geese. It had plenty of room for our family, and the kitchen had all we needed to cook our meals. There is a large deck that overlooks the pond and has plenty of seating for everyone. We would love to come stay again the next time we are in Indiana!
It was a very relaxing stay. The kids had so much fun with the geese, ducks, and the neighbors’ dogs. We also saw a heron at the pond and it was fun watching the horses from the neighboring property. The pond is beautiful and so private. We were there for a Purdue graduation. So we were not in the property the whole time but we enjoyed the time we were there.
We spent almost the entire time at the fire pit, and it was perfectly peaceful and lovely. The only issue was that the coffee maker looked pretty gross, so we opted to not use it at all. It’s a really easy to miss detail, and the rest of the house was immaculate, so that doesn’t impact the rating. We also weren’t sure if there was anything we had to do when checking out (strip the beds, etc?), so clearer instructions would have been wonderful. Again, nothing bad, just feedback for the owner for the future. I would (and likely will) absolutely stay again! I wasn’t able to find any information on if we were able to ride/visit/interact with the horses, but we were all dying to. 😍
We stayed here for Labor Day weekend with our family of 5 adults and 1 child. We absolutely loved it! Plenty of room inside, tons of property outside! The house sits back from the road, (look for the large white barn to know where to turn!) and is on a small lake. There is a family of ducks that comes to visit everyday for food (supplied in the garage), and may even lay an egg or two! My 7 year old son loved seeing the ducks everyday. There is a dock for sitting or fishing (rods supplied), and a few boats to take out on the water. In addition, there is a beautiful back porch area with tons of seating choices, with more tables and chairs in the garage. House is spacious, large open kitchen that has almost everything you need for cooking. Including a coffee pot with coffee, and the cutest mugs and glasses! Washer and dryer in case you need to wash clothes. Three large bedrooms, which was perfect for our family. With two queen size beds, 1 king, and 2 sets of bunk beds, plus a pullout futon in the living room, there is plenty of space for the whole family! Lazy susan on the dining table is perfect for playing games. Overall we greatly enjoyed our stay, and appreciated all of the offered amenities and accomodations. Highly recommend for families!
