Welcome to peaceful Birdsong Retreat where the quiet serenity is accompanied with birdsong. This spacious, newly built home sits in a sunny yard on 5 acres of beautiful Cedar trees that guests are welcome to enjoy walking in. It is located at the end of a quiet road, very private, yet close to town and amenities - only 10 minutes from the car ferry, and less than 2 miles to the beach and a view of the Olympic Mountains.
The house is fully furnished for guests comfort. You will find all you need in the well-appointed kitchen, including spices. All luxurious linens are provided, including beach towels. Internet, WiFi, and cable TV with flat screen and Blu-Ray, as well as stream Netflix are provided. Listen to your favorite music on the I-Doc station or Pandora. Books, board and yard games are provided.
This is a restful place where you can rejuvenate, winter or summer. Rock on the porch or lay back in one of the recliners, curl up with a book in this cozy, quiet haven. The number of birds and other wildlife here are amazing; we've seen great horned owls, bald eagles, and many song birds. It's great for individuals and families. If you wish to venture beyond this property, there is plenty of natural beauty and points of interest, golf courses, hiking trails, parks, as well as quaint towns and shops nearby on this vacation destination Island. We have a guest book with maps and some suggestions at the Retreat.
The house features: spacious vaulted great room with living room (multiple reclining sectional), dining area (seats 6), and kitchen with new stainless steel appliances (also microwave, coffee maker, bagel toaster, Belgian waffle maker, popcorn popper); 2 large bedrooms with queen size beds (luxurious cotton sateen sheets and down comforters), additional convertible queen bed; 2 full bathrooms with showers, tubs (luxury towels, soap, shampoo, and conditioner, hair dryer provided); utility room with washer and dryer (soap and fabric softener provided); iron and board; wood deck with patio dining set and gas grill; covered porches.
Leave your worries behind as you ride the 15 minute car ferry (only 10 minutes drive to the house) as you begin your retreat. To get the current ferry schedule please see our website under links below or google Washington State Ferry, and look under Mukilteo-Clinton.

a peaceful and comfortable getaway
I've been to Birdsong Retreat twice, and have just booked a third stay there. The setting is peaceful and beautiful. We saw a mama deer and her fawn right next to the house in the morning, and at night we heard the hooting of owls. The house itself is quite comfortable and furnished with everything we needed for an enjoyable and relaxing stay.

Beautiful Property
We enjoyed our stay in this lovely home. The setting is private and beautiful. If you like to be surrounded by nature, this is the place for you. The home is clean and has everything you need. I would highly suggest you bring drinking water. The water has an odd smell and taste that is hard to ignore. Other than that, we had a wonderful time!

Secluded retreat
Our family of six enjoyed our stay at Birdsong Retreat. There was plenty of room for all of us. It was nice staying in a newer home with quality linens, towels, etc. The owner has gone above & beyond to make sure visitors have everything they need to feel at home. The house is literally nestled in the middle of the woods & is adequately named---we heard all kinds of birds, including owls. We also saw a doe & a hawk. We will definitely return!:-)

Super quiet and clean
We loved our stay! We were visiting for a wedding, about 6 miles away. The privacy in this place is amazing. Gorgeous lot, surrounded in trees and completely silent. We were wondering where the crickets and frogs were! We live in a peaceful place, and this place is 100 times more quiet. The couch was sp comfortable, and the kitchen was very well stocked. They had everything we could possibly use. We didn't see anything aboout the check out requirements, so I'm guessing they are pretty simple. They have a waffle iron and any other dishware, condiments, spices etc that you may need. Woould definitely stay again.

Overall a lovely stay, well equipped and clean accommodation. The couch is amazing and why we chose the house. We were very underwhelmed with the squeaky bed that made sleep as challenging as an Olympic sport. Beware the staples in the carpet with the no shoe policy. The property is quiet and beautiful but we found it hard to enjoy the advertised size because of the stinging nettle. Ultimately it didn’t matter much as we spent most of our time enjoying the island, especially Coupeville!

Mid winter break stay
Our family of 5 has spent three days in that beautiful house this February. The house is brand new with lots of open space inside and has everything you can think about. The beds are very comfortable with many layers of blankets which was great for different temperature adjustments. It locates in a private and very quit spot. The owner is very responsive and available over the phone whenever we had questions. She is also was very thoughtful and prepared descriptions of local hikes, stores and restaurants that we found to be very helpful. We've loved our stay a lot and plan to come back! Thank you for sharing your house with us!

Wonderful retreat as usual
It’s been a few years since we last stayed here, and we were pleased to find the home as clean & “like new” condition as before.:) We appreciate the quality sheets & towels, comfortable mattresses, etc. We also love how it’s nestled back in the woods. Our family enjoyed playing games & watching movies together as we ended the holiday season. We also appreciated how the lane is better groomed & the brush is cut back further than it was the last time we stayed here...allowing our SUV to make it to the home without branches touching our rig:) This home will always be one of our top choices when visiting Whidbey Island.:)

Great stay
Very clean house to rent. Comfortable beds. Plenty of room and we'll stocked home. We only stayed 2 nights while on Whidbey Island for a big family birthday celebration. We just slept at the house. We never ate there but I could tell the kitchen was well stocked. We arrived late and after dark. I had the wrong entrance code and was very thankful the owners answered the phone so we could get in. I do wish they had the simple courtesy to turn up the heat. It was a very cold night till we all got warm. Lots of blankets and bedding. Super clean home!

HONEST OPINION: Very Good Location. Secluded, clean
This is a very good rental. The place is very clean. The kitchen has EVERYTHING you would need and it is a very private, secluded location in the lower half of Whidbey Island. I would give it a 9 out of 10. If it had a hot tub it would be perfect. Cant get everything but we were not disappointed at all. The only suggestion I would make is if the lights had dimmers instead of switches, that would make it even more romantic. The pillows are a bit hard but hey, bring your own pillow and you wont really need anything with this cabin. I am coming back in November and I will try to rent here again. Thanks!

A pleasant stay at in a remote location.
Pros: The house was clean and well furnished. Very tastefully decorated. Very quiet (except for the wall heaters). Lots of linen and bedding. Well stocked essentials in the kitchen. Modern appliances. Cons: Outdated entertainment system. If you have an IPhone 4, you will like it. We could not get Netflix to work on the second night. Little things like; the toilet seat doesn't stay up in the bathroom. OK for girls but... and that there are no shower mats. The bathrooms are tile and it can be quite slippery when you stet out of the shower. I used a towel. Not optimal. The dirt road to the house is long and could be a problem during rainy weather.

What a beautiful house
Wir hatten einen tollen Aufenthalt. Da wir viel unterwegs waeen, konnten wir gar nicht alles nutzen was vorhanden war. Für unsere Tochter (4 Jahre) war es auch schön. Das Haus war sehr geräumig, liebevoll eingerichtet und es waren Spiele, Bücher und was zum Malen da. Draußen gab es einen Grill und es hat in der Küche auch an nichts gefehlt. Das Haus liegt mitten in der Natur und dennoch ist man sehr schnell in einer Stadt. Sollten wir nochmal in die Gegend kommen, würden wir uns sehr freuen wieder hier zu wohnen.

A peaceful, quiet getaway
This was our third or fourth time staying here. We keep coming back because of the peace and quiet and the comfort of the home. The kitchen is well stocked, including coffee, tea, some canned goods, and all the kitchen appliances you need. The beds are super comfortable. Our host Diane was responsive when we had a small issue with the TV (resolved quickly.) Highly recommend!

Whidbey hideaway gem!
This is our second thanksgiving weekend at this location. We appreciate the cleanliness, more than adequate amenities, privacy. Everything you need is provided. Excellent communication with owner. One small issue is the wifi being spotty at certain times which slows down video streaming. Not a deal breaker for our family and we will be back next year. Highly recommend this place!
