Stone Gables Inn - A Historic Victorian Mansion in Ohio City

Beautiful historic Victorian mansion located in the heart of Cleveland's hip Ohio City neighborhood. Built in 1883, it was lovingly restored in 2000 to give it all the modern amenities without losing any of its charm. Most of the original wood work and plaster trim has been restored. Conveniently located, we are within walking distance of many fine restaurants, breweries and the historic West Side Market. All but one bedroom has a private bathroom. Lots of gathering spaces including 2 living rooms, a large dining room, full kitchen, and several covered porches. Private gated parking lot for 6 cars. Perfect for family reunions, wedding groups, bachelor/bachelorette parties, or just a weekend trip to the city. The building is divided in half. Stone Gables Inn occupies the West side of the building, while apartments occupy the East side. The two sides are fully separated by a stone wall and are separately addressed.

Ideal Small Reunion Site
A group of 9 of us gathered at the Stone Gables for a 4-day reunion. We are college friends celebrating 55 years of friendship. Location, cleanliness, secure parking, views to Lake Erie, etc. All were positive factors. The house has been lovingly and solidly restored with many thoughtful touches. Best was having site management nearby and immediately responsive to our questions. Overall it was a superb experience for this sometimes picky group.

75th birthday trip with extended family
Stayed in the mansion with my siblings, mother, wife and teens. It was a great home base as we explored the sights of Cleveland. Great space to spend family time together to start and end the day. The house was clean and well appointed. Ample parking. Easy in and out. Responsive hosts. We particularly loved the front porch. I highly recommend this property.

Elegant luxury in a dynamic neighborhood
Fantastic location. What did I love: * spacious, comfortable bedroom with lots of pillows * loads of full baths - no competing for a shower * comfortable first floor gathering spaces - perfect for games * outstanding kitchen. While we didn't use it other than to serve ice cream, it was sunny, lots of counters, well supplied * off street parking * neighborhood is super interesting. Lots of renovations being done on stately homes as well as homes in general * parks nearby for little ones * Detroit street is two blocks away, loaded with restaurants, some offering a lake view * close to downtown * close to Case Western * connie was super easy to deal with Will definitely stay here again and highly recommend it

Wedding weekend
Stone Gables helped make our son's wedding memorable. We rented out the entire place for family coming in from Vermont, Seattle and Salt Lake, and it served us well as a fun, comfortable and beautiful home-away-from-home. It was clean and well equipped. The large downstairs was a great eating and socializing space. My only complaint is that the time went too fast!

Wonderful place for family gatherings!

Beautiful, Elegant Home - Great Location
Several couples shared this home for the weekend. It is gorgeous and comfortable with plenty of room to spread out or gather together. The beds were comfortable. There are lots of stairs! Ample parking and a great location near Lake Erie and downtown with easy access to highways. Would definitely recommend.

Cousins Weekend in Cleveland
Great property in a beautiful part of town. Easy to get around, walked almost everywhere. Beautiful tree-lined streets in what appears to be a gentrifying neighborhood. Great property - perfect for a bunch of guys in town for good food, baseball, the Cleveland Museum of Art and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Would definitely stay there again. Owners were very gracious and warm.

Gorgeous house
A group of us from Canada had the privilege of staying for a night at this remarkable house. Everything was perfect. Lots of space for a group of 10 to relax. The bedrooms had comfortable beds with showers and bathrooms in each. Connie was pleasant to deal with a communication was easy and fun. I can’t say enough good things about our experience. We won’t be staying anywhere else when we travel to Cleveland ! Do yourself a favour and make this home a place to stay on your travels !

A wonderful place to stay!
We rented the whole B&B for a friend’s birthday. The asthetic was great. The kitchen was great. The rooms were all clean and big and nice and even color coded via key and door. We played a murder mystery, which went really well across the 3 floors we had access to. The location was also superb, the local markets and food places and all that within a 10 minute drive were fantastic. We are defintely considering this again for future friend gatherings.

What a great find! We are a company that travels with a show staff and we were all shocked that we had the entire bed and breakfast for our entire staff---all three floors! Everyone had their own room and bath and the large sitting room and dining table was large enough to accommodate our team meetings and meals. The sitting rooms on each floor gave us privacy. The entire place was so comfortable and easy to decompress after each day. It is also very convenient to the convention center. The owner was more than accommodating and we had access to a full kitchen with plenty of storage containers and baggies for our lunches and the coffee selections saved us money in the mornings. The Jacuzzi tubs in two of the rooms were quite relaxing and we also had plenty of towels. The ameneties made it feel like a home away from home. We really enjoyed this historic home and we felt comfy and cozy.

Great house in the perfect location!
My group of 14 really enjoyed our stay at this property. There was plenty of space, and the owner was very accommodating. The house is located within walking distance of restaurants, bars, and micro-breweries. It was also a quick 5 minute drive from downtown Cleveland, and even to Edgewater Beach. Highlight recommended for a large group!

It’s literally a mansion!
Great spot and just as advertised. Beds were comfortable and they were waiting for us to show us around when we got in late. They even had some staples for us in the fridge! Private parking and great WiFi too!
