We were pleased to find a place that allowed dogs. We thought the listing stating “fenced yard” meant that it was secure, so we could play with the dogs. There is no gate across the drive, and two large gaps in the side of the fence away from the drive. We were able to block these with our vehicle and the rubbish bins, though it was not ideal.
Open bins outside had water and trash in them, as well as mosquito larvae. We dumped them out as well as possible.
The screen doors do not close well, or latch securely.
The house smelled musty, and some bits of cereal were found.
It appears that linens are stored in outside bins, which seems unhygienic.
The pads on the kitchen chairs were stained and dirty.
The beds were comfortable.
The air conditioning (window units) was effective, but noisy.
The shower was clean, water was hot, and pressure was fine.
The kitchen had a full size fridge, and was clean and well stocked.
Most of the problems would be easy to correct.
If the fence is not secure, the listing should read “partially fenced yard” for accuracy.
We left the property in better condition than we found it, keeping our dogs in the kitchen and tidying regularly. It has been two days since check out, and we would like to know when to expect our deposit.
