"Good facilities, good size for 6 people supermarket 5 minute walk away. Spa and pool excellent the kids loved it, well equipped kitchen. The only problem was the smoke detectors are very sensitive, there's one on the bathroom which was triggered by steam from the shower and one was set off by spray deodorant, so security show up and say there's a problem and you have to open the balcony door, not ideal in winter. Overall a good stay."

"We booked here to go to the Bruges Christmas market, the hotel was approximately 30 minutes in a taxi and the hotel were kind enough to order one for us, it cost about 60 euros which we didnt think was too bad. The mattress on the bed was probably the softest I've ever slept on and really not my style. No 24 hour reception, in fact it closes at 6pm which is not great. "The Upstairs hotel was a very stylish and fun hotel just steps from the beach. The staff was really friendly and helpful! One small point is if you do book one of the small/cheap rooms, they aren't easily accessible via the lifts. You will need to go down a couple of flights of stairs which can be tough with heavy luggage. Otherwise I highly recommend this hotel when staying in Ostend!"

"Lovely hotel in a great location for seeing Ostend and an easy walk to the bus/train station. On checking in the receptionist directed us to a free car park and we left our car there from Friday to Monday with no problems. Im afraid we didn't eat or drink at the hotel so cant comment but it always seemed busy. The beds were huge and very comfortable we will definitely stay here again if we come back "
