"This was my family’s first trip to Bocas and this property was the main reason I wanted to visit this area of Panama. My husband, adult kids and their partners stayed at the property for a week and it was amazing, despite the rainy weather. The house was setup perfectly with 2 upstairs bedrooms and a shared bath. Downstairs there was a bedroom and bath that also opened into the main living area. The property is very remote but it’s worth the trip. We loved being on the calm Caribbean side of the ocean with access to snorkeling, paddle boarding and kayaking right out our front door. We also loved access to the hiking trails at the back of the property where we saw many sloths, howler monkeys, birds and other wildlife. My husband and I spent a night in the treehouse and got to wake up to the jungle coming alive at daybreak. The hosts were great and we took advantage of Jose’s culinary skills when he made us the best meal of our trip for dinner. We had in home massages and we visited the bat cave. We also spent the only sunny day we had at starfish beach. Another very cool part of the trip was the on property caretaker’s 2 dogs. They were so sweet and kept us company and safe. We also met some neighbor dogs while out hiking that walked with us. It truly was magical and I would definitely go back to Panama. Brush up on your Spanish, as while most locals speak a little English knowing a little Spanish is definitely helpful. "

"I had a wonderful time staying in Casa del Mar. From the moment we arrived at the airport we were guided and assisted by Erika. I really appreciated Erika's guidance in the grocery store as she helped me purchase the items for Jose's (the house chef) meal. Once we were dropped off at the house everything we needed was available to us from lounge pants to keep the bugs off to the rainboots, snorkel gear and kayaks.We went on a few tours which were arranged for us by Erika but I would have been just as happy staying on the property. The snorkeling off of the deck was a delight.We felt wonderfully taken care of and would recommend the house and family of caretakers (Erika, Katerin, Jose and Jose-Maria). Everyone was truly lovely. Thank you all."

"This a truly unique property. It is indeed a floating home. It floats just off the shore in a bay along the main land in the far western area of Panama. While there isn’t any azure blue water that fancy Caribbean resorts will show you, it is a beautiful and peaceful spot. The place is very clean, comfortable and easy to use. Dave and Shelley are 10 in their friendliness and readiness to please. Our friends, my spouse and I wanted to get way off the beaten track, and WOW we succeeded!!! Thanks Dave and Shelly. "
