What a lovely resting place.
We stayed for 4 nights to nip around the Cotswolds. Guddlebrook 2 was in the perfect location for this, and as an owner of an EV, very close to Chipping Norton which has fantastic charging facilities for our EV. The accommodation is away from roads and so is silent, except for the friendly horses in the field behind us. We would definitely recommend Guddlebrook 2 as a stay over for others who need a comfortable base.

Pleasant licality
The cottage was in a lovely position in the farm with geese and horses around us. The accommodation was comfortable, the bed was very comfy but the kitchen lacked in a fee plates and oven trays. The cottage is situation really well for exploring the Cotswolds.

Lovely quiet location, just what we were looking for. Easy access to local sights we visited. Friendly owner on hand if we required anything.

Lovely cottage all on one level with parking - perfect base for exploring the Cotswolds
The cottage was lovely, perfect size for a couple with a nice king size bed and large shower enclosure and bath. It is tucked away on a farm with parking and good being all on one level, with the parking next to the cottage too. The owner was very friendly and welcoming and only next door in the farm if any problems. It made a great base for exploring the Cotswolds and we had a lovely stay, thank you.

Excellent stay
Very well appointed cottage in beautiful surroundings with everything you need for a perfect stay. Good cooking facilities and equipment. Big comfortable bed and a good big shower with plenty of hot water. The drive is a little rough but was assured by the owners that it would be done but it did not spoil our stay. All in all an excellent place to stay and central for exploring the Cotswolds. Would definitely recommend.

Great stay in fabulous location
We had a lovely week stay. The cottage was perfect for our needs and in an AMAZING location to visit lots of the places we wanted to see. The owner Iona and her family were super helpful and friendly and made us feel at home responding to any questions we may have had. The property is in lovely grounds next to stables and fields, really peaceful and the sun moves its way around the garden to enjoy. The kitchen had everything we needed to make breakfast and simple suppers but we don’t tend to cook a great deal while on holiday. The bed was comfortable and large and all bedding was immaculately clean. The bathroom was lovely and spacious with a bath and a large shower cubicle. We would definitely return to this property to explore more of the Cotswolds. Thank you for a lovely stay

A nice place and location
The property and surrounding was nice easy access to main road. Property could do with a few extra pieces of crockery information about how to work appliance’s and what to do with the rubbish. Internet is not great reception. We unfortunately had a problem with the heating but it was fixed by the owner next day. Otherwise we enjoyed our break.

Cozy break
Lovely large bathroom. Comfy large bed. Owners super helpful when we had a Wi-Fi issue. Crockery mugs ect would have been nice if things matched rather than odds and ends. Wasn't aware of interconnecting door with owners house which felt a bit awkward as there was nothing to lock it from our side

Lovely, peaceful setting
Enjoyed our short stay in this lovely quiet setting. Ideal to have easily movable outdoor furniture to make most of sun or shade, as required, which we did. Very friendly, obliging host who made us feel very welcome. Ever conscious of energy use, an increase of crockery sets would have meant we didn't need to use dishwasher so often. Concerned at how hygienic a card table is as a dining table. All in all though, a very pleasant place to stay.

Cozy cottage in a quiet location
The cottage lies in a very quiet location at the end of a private lane with nice views and lots of light coming in. It is furnished very well which makes you feel at home right away. The large and comfortable bathroom is a big plus. The owners are very friendly and helpful and respond quickly to messages and small issues. As other reviews already stated the kitchen is a bit basic/poorly equipped. A little investment in that section would really be a great upgrade for the total experience. Basically the cottage was clean but a bit more eye for detailed cleaning would be an improvement as well. But overall we loved it and enjoyed our stay very much.

Lovely place to stay
Really loved staying here, very small thing we found was when we arrived and were looking around, there was door which we realised was a joining door to the owners home, not knowing what the door was for I opened it and there was someone’s living room and dog there.. made us feel a bit uncomfortable. I think it was just forgotten to be locked by the owners but was a bit strange and we didn’t have the option to lock our side. You could also hear quite a lot when trying to watch tv which wasn’t as relaxing as it should be hearing children play fighting etc. Really lovely accommodation, although in the middle of the country so I understand there will be spiders but there were thick spider webs everywhere which I don’t think had been cleaned for a while.

Could do better
Lovely little cottage in nice location. Arrived and cottage locked and we had to contact owner who came with key. We never saw her again. Overall comfortable cottage but lots small details were in our view not up to standard. Miss matched towels and rough. No overhead lights in bedroom. No heated towel rail so damp towels for three days. Dirty roast pans in grill and oven. No small plates in kitchen. No tea towels. No instructions for induction hob or tv controls. All in all small details do make a stay much more enjoyable. We have stayed in many similar properties over the years and none of them were as lacking as this. However we did enjoy our mini break regardless but do feel the owner needs to up their game in an ever increasing battle for clients.

Midweek Break
We decided to have a mid-week break at half term to visit Oxford and the Cotswolds, choosing Guddlebrook 2 because it was affordable and seemed to meet our requirements. It was a very good choice! Although our main goal was to visit Oxford, we also wanted to see places such as Burford, Stow-on-the-Wold, Bourton-on-the-Water and Banbury. All these places were an easy drive from the property. The property itself was exactly as shown on the website and was warm and comfortable. The kitchen equipment was basic, but sufficient, although a roasting tin would have been useful. The lounge area was comfortable and homely and the card table previously used as a dining table,as shown in the photos, has been replaced by a proper dining table. The bed was extremely comfortable and large, and although there wasn't a wardrobe there was a rail with hangers. The bathroom was spacious, with both a bath and a shower - and plenty of very hot water. The owners were very friendly and helpful, but the real star of the show was the goose peering in through the lounge window! We appreciated the rural location and would be happy to return next time we visit the area.

Nice but not great
The cottage was nice but with a few "tweaks" it could be perfect (in my opinion). Cleanliness needs to be improved for instance the oven was in need of cleaning and the oven tins had old food still stuck to them and I needed to really scrub the ones I wanted to use before I could use them. There was no wardrobe. This is ok if only staying a night or two but when staying for longer it would have been nice to hang clothes up rather than having to live out of a suitcase and iron clothes before wearing them. There were a few coat hangers and hooks in the bathroom but once you've had a shower/bath, they will be damp from steam. There is also a goose on the premises which was a bit of a nuisance banging on the door with its beak and leaving a mess right outside the door that needed to be cleaned away before walking it in everything! Having said all that, the property was nicely appointed, the bed was very comfortable, warm and central to a lot of places of interest to visit without being in the car for hours on end. The host was lovely and as helpful as she could possibly be. Overall we had a lovely week here but a few little changes and it would have been perfect.
