Lovely setting, so quiet & peaceful which is just what we wanted. Very atmospheric, loved the log burner, everything you could need is supplied. Shame our 3 nights was cut to 2 due to the new Covid lockdown but we will definitely be back. Highly recommended. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

Beautifully positioned for visiting places - several beautiful walks and attractions within half an hour drive eg. National Arboretum. There is a pub within a 5-10min walk serving good food, but advise that you have a torch handy for the walk back! The cottage is very peaceful and private, a little ‘tired’ but clean, with a very comfortable bed. There is an additional charge on site for the oil heating. The Carthouse was amazing, so peaceful, we immediately felt very relaxed which was exactly what we wanted. Appreciated the welcome bits that were left for us. It is very spacious considering it has just the one bedroom. Loved having a 'proper' fire, a real treat!! Great place and would highly recommend. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

Very pleasant spot within easy reach of Malmesbury and handy for the local Waitrose.
Very pleasant spot within easy reach of Malmesbury and handy for the local Waitrose. Covid restrictions did limit our access to some local attractions but as we were visiting family in the area this did not affect our stay. The cottage was well equipped and spacious for 2 people but although clean and tidy we were slightly unimpressed with level of extra cleaning advertised because of covid 9. We used this purely as a base because we knew we would be going out every day. Set in a very quiet village that had no shop and only one pub that was closed on the monday and the kitchen was closed on the wednesday. The nearest supermarket is waitrose. The carthouse is a quaint little converted barn, which we felt was a little tired looking, needs some updating. So much more could be done to give it the wow factor. If you don't like birds, insects bugs or spiders this place wont be for you. Also there was no BBQ there which was stated.

Our very nice host gave us very good advice about an accessible place to visit, helped us with minor practical problems, and even gave us bulbs of the native English bluebell all though she was in mourning. That was absolutely outstanding.

My wife and I had a lovely time staying at the Carthouse. Nice walks, secluded with a friendly pub, with good food nearby. Nice enclosed garden to let our dog out without worrying. Phone signal not great, but hey, the idea is to get away. Wi-Fi very good though. We had a very nice relaxed time.
