Disliked: Cleanliness
Chincoteague 2024
We have been going to Chincoteague for over 30 years and have stayed in multiple places. This was a last minute option.
It was listed as having a sleeper sofa that did not exist which made a very awkward sleeping situation for the 4 of us. There was no hot water our entire stay though a repairman was sent out promptly, he could not fix. So hard to clean dishes and no relaxing bath with a good book at the end of the day.
The kitchen had 3 metal drawers that were rusty with dirty, smelly water in them when we arrived. (and left, I was not cleaning them and rental company was aware)
There was a step down from the dining room to the kitchen that my elderly father and I both fell down to our knees twice and everyone else kept tripping on until I put a chair in the way. I would not recommend this place for the elderly or small kids but maybe good for young adults.
One of the bedroom doors and the bathroom door did not latch to close. We had to prop a piece of furniture in front of it to keep it closed for privacy.
We loved the cozy screened in porch and the house was well decorated. If you drink coffee, the house had every possible type of coffee maker one could want.
Another positive is the location of the house, it is located walking distance to downtown and some of the best shops.
