This railway cottage has been built around the old carriage that was taken off the tracks in 1930. The carriage used to be part of the train that ran along the south coast down to Folkstone. The owner has created a unique holiday home with ample space, including five double bedrooms, a single bedroom, three bathrooms, two full kitchens and a lovely dining area that leads out onto a large patio with outdoor table tennis and lots of outdoor seating. Byeways is perfect for a large family, couple of families or a group looking for plenty of space and room so to not feel on top of each other. There are some narrow corridors in parts of the old carriage and steps to different areas.
Selsey East Beach is a popular destination enjoyed by families, with children’s facilities including a playground and family café behind the seawall. A promenade runs from East Beach to Selsey centre, which is great for an afternoon stroll, plus there are plenty of places to enjoy some seafood and chips. Selsey Bill Lifeboat Station is also worth a visit with its small museum and shop, it is a working lifeboat station and has a fantastic viewing platform. If you are into your seafood, check out Potters who can deliver seafood platters for you to enjoy whilst relaxing back at the cottage.
This area of the south coast has a huge host of local attractions to keep everyone entertained. Chichester is just a short drive away, with its cathedral, fantastic selection of independent shops, a theatre and an array pubs and restaurants, this is a city not to be missed. For those of enjoy walking, the stunning South Downs and plenty of unspoilt beaches are nearby.
