The front of the hotel and common areas are nothing to brag about. Outdated and in need of an upgrade, however, the room was recently updated, large, clean, and quiet. There are plenty of places to eat and shop, many within walking distance, but what makes this hotel unique and wonderful was the small balcony overlooking the large lake behind the property. We loved sitting on the balcony watching all the birds, geese, and cranes in their natural habitat. Looks like a nature preserve, and it was completely unexpected judging by the busy commercial area the hotel is located. And very close to Indiana Dunes National Park. So, if you can look past the front of the building, the lobby, and the hallways of the hotel, it was a very reasonably priced and descent room with a nice balcony directly on a large lake providing 24hr natural entertainment. We would stay there again just for the view.
