The gentleman at the desk was pleasant. The paint on the walls was chipped, there was copious dust on the lamps. The walls were too thin; we could hear someone cursing loudly in the middle of the night. The heating/AC unit was extremely loud. Not a good experience at all.

I wish I could rate this higher. Overall, the room was clean and tidy, had the essentials for a relatively comfortable overnight stay, and the location is close to a nearby venue. However, when I arrived, I noticed the unit next door to mine had their door ajar, and the smell of cigarette smoke coming out of the room was strong. My room also smelled like stale cigarettes, though technically it was a non-smoking room. I immediately noticed that both of the windows to my ground floor unit were unlocked, which I found a little disturbing. When I left my room to go out for a few hours, there was an older homeless looking person hanging around the unit next door and stared me down hard as I walked to my truck. I almost considered checking back out and not staying, as a single woman traveling alone out of state, I didn’t feel very safe. Luckily, when I got back things were quiet. I stayed. I could hear the tv going next door all night and I didn’t sleep much but otherwise my stay was uneventful. Unfortunately I don’t know that I’d stay again.

There is a severe mold issue which makes it impossible to stay here this place should be shut down. PERIOD. ROOM 12 is where we were going to stay but had to leave after 5 min in the room upon Inspection of the bathroom, wondering where the wood was coming from eyes were watering unable to breathe nose, starting to clog. How can anybody sleep in such a situation shame on you this place is a health hazard. What a dumb terrible terrible terrible. Please do yourself a favour and never ever come here.

Rooms are a little rundown, but they were clean close to a bunch of different food. Places have to try Royster‘s barbecue right next to the hotel. Food is so good.

I am a touring comedian of over 30 years and there are many times you need a break from the routine, overpriced, packed hotels…the Cheshire Inn was one of the most comfortable, quiet, quaint, homey, inns I have ever stayed at! So much in fact, that I spent all 3 nights there…there is a great sushi place and BBQ in walking distance and anything you need…parking is huge and great and the staff is wonderful…5 stars!!! Will be back!
