The Escapes by Dave presents The Lakeside Escape, a charming log cabin with modern rustic decor and amazing mountain and lake views. It has its own private trail down to the lake, where you can enjoy fishing from our dock and taking in the scenery! Along the trail are 2 outdoor fire pits, one of which is lakeside. Enjoy the fire while lounging in our comfortable, oversized adirondack chairs, while making S’Mores, sharing stories, and making memories!
***PLEASE NOTE - the lower level suite is only accessible by OUTDOOR stairs. There are no interior connecting stairs with the main level.***
Our cabin is located in a picturesque community on a mountain with other cabins. You must drive up a winding road up the mountain to make it to our cabin. 4WD is not necessary; any vehicle can make the trip. We recommend driving during daylight until you are comfortable with the road.
We are located on a quiet road. However, noise travels on the mountain. We have neighboring cabins on either side that are also vacation rentals (a small cabin is 20-30 yards away and the other is 50-60 yards away). If those cabins are occupied during your stay, there is a possibility that you may hear those guests. Quiet hours are observed from 10pm-7am.
PET-FRIENDLY - up to 2 pets are allowed at a rate of $150/pet. For example, 1 pet would be an additional $150 per reservation. Two pets would be an additional $300 per reservation. For the safety of your pet, you must bring a pet crate. If your pet is left unattended, they must be placed in a crate indoors with access to food and water. Time left unattended should be kept at a minimum. Be aware that we do have bear and other wildlife activity consistent with mountain life in the area so pets and children should not wander the property without adult supervision.**
We have 2 expansive decks that are perfect for dining outdoors, rain or shine, and enjoying the breathtaking view. There is a variety of comfortable seating from rocking chairs to lounge chairs, along with a gas fire table to enhance the ambience.
There is a private trail that is well lit at night from our cabin down to the lake, which is about 300 ft from the cabin. There is a downward incline going to the lake and an upward incline back to the cabin. You will get a great workout! Along the trail, you will find a fire pit near the cabin and one that is lakeside. The lake is great for fishing, kayaking, and paddle boarding - bring your own equipment! There are several kayak rental places within 20 min of the cabin. Swimming is at your own risk. We have seen an occasional swimmer, but it is generally not recommended due to the muddy bottom and algae.
Our large hot tub seats 6 and is located on the covered lower deck so it can be enjoyed in all weather! It is the perfect place to unwind and soak in the view. Please note that the hot tub is emptied, sanitized, and refilled with each reservation.
Centrally located between Downtown Blue Ridge and Ellijay Circle, the Lakeside Escape is a rare find. Venture out and visit attractions such as Falls Branch Falls, Mercier Orchards, Old Toccoa Farm, and Expedition: Bigfoot! The Sasquatch Museum. The Lakeside Escape is a true gem nestled in the Hidden Lake community.
