New Build! Quiet and secluded modern hillside cabin with 180 feet of frontage along Fightingtown Creek in the middle of the Chattahoochee National Forest. Large deck with where you can listen to the sounds of the creek. Fly fishing on the trout stocked creek. Less than 20 minutes to downtown Blue Ridge and Ellijay. Stone fire pit with seating areas also next to the creek. Cabin is on the Georgia Traverse, a 390 mile 4 wheeling path across North Georgia through all the quaint towns and villages.
This new construction cabin features rough hewn wood floors, walls and cabinets and a thirty foot long deck looking over the creek, where you can sip your morning coffee or enjoy a glass of wine while listening to the soothing sounds of the stream rushing past. Or open the windows at night and enjoy the natural white noise produced by the babbling creek.
Inside the front door is a Samsung stainless steel kitchen with a full size refrigerator and a four seat high top dining table. High end Pottery Barn dishware is provided, along with Calphalon pots, pans and a lobster pot for your low country boil in the mountains.
The living room has a leather couch and matching chair, coffee table and end tables. High speed fiber internet is provided for unlimited streaming and downloads! Kick back and watch the 60" big screen tv with YouTube TV and NFL Red Zone or your favorite streaming service in 4k. The TV is on the mantle of a rough mountain stone fireplace complete with vent free gas logs with remote control for those chilly mountain nights (note gas logs are only available September thru May - otherwise it'll be too hot!).
The main bedroom has a king bed with memory foam mattress, linens and quilts as well as chic throw pillows. There is a 6 drawer dresser, luggage rack and hanging rods attached to the maid's closet. A separate 42" smart LCD tv rests atop the dresser with streaming apps. There is an en suite full bath with towels, body wash and shampoo provided. This is also the main floor bathroom with separate entry. A Westin curved shower curtain rod is installed for extra elbow room in the standard sized tub/shower combo.
Up the rough hewn stairs is the second sleeping area/loft with a king sized memory foam mattress, plush quilt and throw pillows. A separate reading nook is located at the top of the stairs containing a twin sized bed and twin pull out trundle bed. The trundle bed in particular is meant for children and the house is best suited for four adults and two children. Six adults would be too cramped.
The loft overlooks the kitchen and den areas and also has multiple windows for enjoying the sounds of the creek. There is an en suite 3/4 bath also containing body wash and shampoo.
Out the back door, there is a wide covered deck overlooking the road and stream with cedar tongue and groove paneling, ceiling fans, lighting and string lights to enjoy those cool mountain evenings. A 4-piece sectional, two seat gliding rocker, child sized rocking chair and additional game day foldable chairs are provided for your relaxation. There is also a four burner propane grill with side sauce burner to complete your mountain dining experience.
Halfway down the driveway is a stone fire pit with Adirondack chair seating and string lights to guide your way on the star filled nights in Cherry Log. A plentiful supply of chopped hardwood is on a rack behind the cabin to keep your fires going long into the night. Lighters are provided in the kitchen.
Note that the road traverses our lot, and the stream is located across the quiet street surrounded by foliage. Bring your waders and fly rod to try and catch some of the stocked trout in Fightingtown Creek. The property has 180 feet of frontage along the creek, directly across the road from the cabin porch.

Notes
- County Ordinance permits only two cars parked at the cabin (1 car per every four people). If you bring more than two cars, you may be fined by the county. We just had a concrete driveway installed up to the firepit. Please disregard older reviews stating difficulty with the driveway as the old gravel driveway required 4WD to gain access from the street. The driveway is steep and can be difficult to access if coming from the east (Bushy Head Rd). You may need to pass the driveway, turn around and arrive from the west.
- Insects are plentiful in variety and quantity on a wooded property in the mountains. We pay for a variety of pest control services for the cabin which are very effective. An exception to this is ladybugs. Unlike most insects, ladybugs do not respond well to insecticides. Please do your part to keep them out by keeping doors shut when not in use. There are screens on all windows except the two in the loft facing the creek. Please keep those windows shut.
- Make sure you have WiFi calling turned on to make phone calls. There is no cellular signal in the valley. A landline is also provided in the master, if needed.
- The hot tub is only a 2-seater and is in a suboptimal location! It is tucked behind the cabin next to the cliff face and does not have any views. Unfortunately with the steep hillside and trees, there is no way for a crane to place one on the porch. If you're like us, you'd rather have one in a subopitmal spot than not have one at all!
