I love Chennai. Many wonderful spiritual places of interest here such as the beautiful Ramakrishna Math and Kapaleeswarar Temple.
This is not for golfers or the pretentious. Go and buy vegetables, dodge motorbikes and tuktuks, watch your step for cow manure, eat the food.
