"This was a two night stay during a 10 day holiday in France. The hotel quality in all respects was excellent. The spa was enjoyable with an excellent range of facilities. Breakfast was good. Staff were friendly. The locality is wonderful close to the old city and lovely coastal walks. Recommended!"

"Staff were friendly and that's about the only good thing I can say, the carpets in the common areas are filthy, there was no hot water for a shower and we were woken up at 1am by loads of drunk guests shouting. I got about 3 hours sleep. Wouldn't recommend."

Concarneau

"We opted to clean the house ourselves but neglected to clean a small amount of crumbs from under the toaster. One of our party used the kitchen table after we had wiped it down and left a ketchup stain for which we paid the €70 fee. However the grooves in said table had crumbs in them. When we arrived the front door was dirty. There's no kettle. House smelled unaired/musty. Towels were stained with bleach - one bed sheet was very stained so unusable. Bedroom wall had brown stains coming through the paint and the ceiling over the staircase was peeling. There's no handrail on lower part of stairs which resulted in me falling down said stairs. There appears to be woodworm in the overhead kitchen cupboard and also the bedroom floors. The outdoor furniture was broken and unuseable. "

Fabulous family holiday - keen to return

"We have just returned from a fabulous family holiday at this property. The owners Annick and George gave us a tremendous introduction to their lovely house, as well as providing great ideas for the trips and visits around the locality. The house is wonderfully presented, with all the facilities you would want for a family, and all in excellent condition. We made good use of the garden and terrace, and the property is very secure for our young children as well. The walk into town through the woods takes no time at all, and we really loved the old walled town in Concarneau and enjoyed the many markets that were on during our stay. We took advantage of the smaller but quieter beaches just ten minutes drive south. Our favourite was the artistic village of Pont Aven. We only got to try a handful of the great restaurants in the area, really loved it and have told Annick and George we'd love to return to enjoy their property and explore more of the local area. Our thanks to them both."

Concarneau Retreat

"We enjoyed our stay at L Écurie du Manoir very much. the accommodation was clean and tidy and very comfortable for two people with plenty of indoor seating. The gite was styled as an old stable/tack room, which it may well have been, and it was certainly quirky although not in a bad way. The kitchen was a little limited, however when we requested it, our host kindly provided a bar-b-que and we simply cooked and eat outside. This was of course helped by the wonderful weather. The first floor housed a good sized bedroom plus separate shower rooms and toilet. The large bed was very comfortable and bigger than some hotel rooms we had stayed in on the same holiday Outside we had the choice of large gardens for eating and drinking. The swimming pool was shared with the landlord and other gite users but we found it was never too busy and we could swim whenever we wanted and never actually had to share the pool with anyone! The location of the gite is actually in Concarneau which we hadn't realised and it was easily possible to walk into town, just down the road we found a large supermarket complex that provided every thing we needed. Finally, we were pleasantly surprised to find that our Landlord delivered us fresh bread every morning which saved us having to run around trying to find bread for lunches. We would certainly recommend the gite based on our stay"
