"Compact and comfortable. Well fitted out and storage for our bikes. Michel and Paulette are great hosts, made us very welcome and provided help with local maps and attractions. This GÎTE in their garden is very quiet and peaceful, only 5 min walk to the coast and about 20 mins into town. For us, the attraction was the convenience of the Vendee cycle ways which are minutes away and are great ways to explore north and south of St Gilles on flat firm surfaces. "The gite is incredibly photogenic, in a quiet corner of the countryside, about 15 mins drive from the beach. The inaccuracy of the listing was our main issue - there is no washer or dryer, as listed, and the host (whilst lovely) did want to charge us extra for the towels and bedding (listed as included). "We had a very nice time in the stone cottage. The place was clean, well-equiped and spacious. We received a warm welcome by Catherine, and the communication was easy and transparent.The little private garden and the swimming pool were very nice and clean. The cottage is a 10-minute drive to the sea and within 1-hour driving distance to many interesting places with a range of family-friendly activities. Highly recommended for a family vacation!"
