Wonderfully clean and super host when we couldn't find the property in the dark. Easy to communicate with Kim with questions. It's obvious in the listing... it's very dog friendly, so if you have allergies, be warned. The fenced yard with grill is lovely.
My husband and I greatly enjoyed our stay here. We had a little difficulty finding it. Our GPS told us we were there long before we really were. Luckily I knew what the property looked like and eventually we came to it. The cottage was comfy and welcoming. We never figured out where the sauna was that other guests mentioned in the guest book. Bed was comfortable and kitchen had everything one could possibly want.
This was a great place to stay! It was comfortable and clean. It had everything we needed along with extras like water and toiletries. The lake is just a couple of minutes away. Its on a quiet road woth not much traffic. Kim is q great host and helpful if you need anything. U would definitely stay again
This cabin was perfect for my family. It had a fenced in backyard which was great for our dogs. The wood burning sauna was amazing. We were close to Houghton and a lot of the attractions we wanted to go see. Kim was great with communication, we would definitely stay again. I loved all the little touches like bottled water, shampoo, laundry and dish soap etc. We had a great time and it was a quiet neighborhood.
This cozy house was a good place for us to stay while we moved our son in at MTU. It was very clean and we enjoyed seeing the chickens and the stars at night.
One caution- If you are sensitive to dog odors this may not be the place for you.
Great and nostalgic used to stay down the road at Carlson's Cabins since I was 9 yrs. old. Country as beautiful as ever. People want more money but in old days it was about the experience and society forgets that today. This country was made by God and we are blessed to enjoy it but for most today at a cost which is not the intention. We enjoyed ourselves.
Kim's home is very clean and cozy! We had a relaxing walk in her quiet neighborhood each day. Great location with a reasonable price to enjoy the Keewenaw. Our dog , Maggie, was very happy to be able to join the adventure and visit her "boy"!
Absolutely a picture perfect setting for a relaxing stay.in Copper Country. Property is immaculate, cozy and provides an accommodating retreat. Close to a small harbor/ park on Portage Lake, minutes from Houghton. Great location for daytrips around Keweenaw Peninsula & Bay. Great sauna for end of the day relaxing. Amazing, friendly host is available for any questions. My stay was above all expectations. As an added bonus: Fresh eggs from the local chickens! I'd give it 6 stars.
The cottage is very cozy and has everything you will need. It is especially nice for people with dogs. There’s a fenced in backyard area that makes traveling with your loved four legged family members so much easier.
The cottage was spacious, clean and comfortable. Loved how peaceful it was and a wonderful place to take walks on the road along the lake. One morning I even saw 6 eagles in one tree on the lake.
The perfect location to sightsee the Copper Country and western UP with my kids and visit family.
