We stayed one night, it’s affordable and with nice bed, big tv, new aircon and generous bottle water for free and cookies(compare to other motels we stayed in, no free water). It’s not a modern motel but overall it’s comfortable.

Property in terrible state both inside and out. In the middle of renovations to both restaurants and rooms, this was not advised in booking or photos. Rooms dirty, items in rooms mouldy (ironing board etc). Rooms smelt like mould and urine. Area outside the rooms in disrepair - numerous skip bins full of rubbish 1 meter from door, piles of building rubble also in this area. Absolute terrible stay and would have been better sleeping in our car.

First impression on opening door was curtains old ,worn out. Extremely loud fridge - had to turn off to sleep. Ceiling fan would not turn off completely. Simple addition like a bedside table would be good. Understand that we weren’t expecting the Hilton but basics not much good.

Hotel is under new management so be aware that details on Expedia and hotel website are not accurate. Check in is 2pm, restaurant, entertainment currently closed. Laundry is not self service and costs $16 au about £8! They don't provide shuttle to train or bus as stated on their site. Best to contact directly to confirm queries you have. Location is across from small park which is nice my room looked out on it and although next to road not used much at night so was quiet. Easy walking to shops, food, tourist spots, supermarket, pretty much all of town. Also 10 min walk to bus that takes you to Townsville. Rooms large, not fancy but all you need. Toaster, microwave, kettle, fridge, big tv, ac. Reception provided me with plate, bowl and cutlery so I could self cater. Needs some tlc definitely dated but comfortable stay.

A not so good choice
We booked this stay couple months ago using your site as a guide. Apparently new owners came late September. The property bears little resemblance to the "as advertised ", except for the price, and no longer represents value for money. We did not receive what was offered. We were there for 2 nights. The large room was furnished with a king bed, a small desk with dining chair and and an old timber chair. Those two chairs were the only seating in the room. No casual seating whatsoever and unsatisfactory accommodation for 2 nights and one day. The manager was unable to provide any casual seating, but did bring in a small table and 2 padded dining chairs which were appreciated. After arriving we found the bathroom door would not close and the door was actually breaking up, the inner skin coming apart. This was not reported as I could see nothing whatsoever could be achieved by doing so. Have also to say the rubbish bin was half full from previous occupants. There were positives: nice king bed, clean carpet tiles,good tv. It is proper to say that room booked was their DELUXE KING ROOM!
