Cabell Cottage is cozy cottage located off of one of Albemarle County's most beautiful thoroughfares, Garth Road. Nestled in the woods on a quiet street, you will feel rested and relaxed after a stay at this well appointed home.  With all rooms on one level, and three parking spaces in front of the house, access could not be easier! The skylights in the house bring in ample light to the rooms to make the cottage cheery and lovely in its setting in this serene neighborhood.

Walk into the house to forest views through the large living room windows. The living room, kitchen, and dining area are all open to each other.  The studio has a queen bed plus an additional twin and is located on the southern side of the house, with a half bath attached.  Walk to the northern side of the home to an additional sitting area with cable TV.  On the far northern side of the cottage is the master suite with a king bed, screened-in porch and en suite bathroom.

Tranquil Stay
My family and I had a wonderful stay at the Cabell cottage. Absolutely everything in this home is top notch. From the bedding to the construction of the home, it all is tastefully done. There is a plethora of informational books on local history, trees, landmarks, etc. I found this cottage to be one of the most relaxing rental properties I have ever stayed at. The drive to the neighborhood is absolutely breathtaking with the rolling hills and fields around every corner. Just be careful of the deer here. Little families were walking around everywhere.

Perfect, comfortable, lovely and comforting place to stay for a family of 4!
We were in Charlottesville for our nephew’s graduation and this charming little cottage was so much more comfortable, for our family of four, than a hotel room. Loved our stay! Located in a beautiful and safe area, quiet, lovely area to walk or run—15 mins from Charlottesville dining options. Comfy beds and living area. Gorgeous views, surrounded by nature! With Family in Charlottesville, we will definitely stay here again!

C’Ville Oasis
Cabell Cottage was a C’Ville oasis! The layout was perfect for my mom and I. The two bedrooms are at opposite ends with the kitchen, dinning room, living room and sitting room between. We especially loved the private screened in porch for our morning coffee. The kitchen was well equipped for our dinner in and we were a quick ride away for our girls’ night out in downtown Charlottesville. I cannot wait to return!

I really enjoyed my stay at Cabell Cottage. It was as described and perfect for what we needed. Only thing we didn’t expect was the one outdoor space where we might have eaten meals outdoors did not seem entirely private as it is attached to the patio of the property owner. Perhaps I should have discerned that from the description. But I didn’t. And for my friend, who stayed in that bedroom, and myself it didn’t matter as we felt comfortable using it if we’d wanted to. The completely private screened in porch attached to the master was glorious. It was perfect for visiting over morning coffee, a late afternoon glass of wine, or just sitting and reading. It was a very comfortable guest house for some much needed r & r. I’ll definitely book again when I have occasion to be in Charlottesville. The setting was gorgeous. I envy the owners who get to live there. Oh, and PS, thank you for the book. My friend has it now and will pass it along to me when she’s finished. But we felt a kinship with you due to much of your reading material in your bookcases and we thank you for your hospitality.

Cabell Cottage left us speechless! It was more than perfect for our girl friend reunion!! The Cottage was beyond our expectations!! The cottage was so nicely and tastefully decorated with full country charm that takes you back to another time. This serene location was convenient for our downtown concert and for our day at the wineries. We enjoyed our evenings relaxing, lighting the candles and sitting around the fireplace with the full window view of the tranquil woods to be the perfect gathering place to celebrate our friendship! The kitchen was nicely stocked with pots,pans and dishes. The bathrooms also provided several sets of luxury bath towels and the beds were so comfy we all had the best sleeps! The Cottage had a nice library of books to browse through. Loved the screen porch surrounded by woods for morning coffee chats or to read a book. We will definitely recommend Cabell Cottage and will be our go to when in Charlottesville!

Amazing cottage
My wife and I and our adult son spent a wonderful three nights at Cabell Cottage. We stayed here for a concert at the Jefferson Theater. It took us about 15 minutes to get to the parking garage on the pedestrian mall. The cottage is beautiful. It is extremely well maintained and has a nice cozy farmhouse feel. Plenty of exterior light from the large windows along the back of the cottage. We loved the wood burning stone fireplace. The kitchen is very well equipped. Check-in and check-out were very easy. We would definitely stay here again.

Cottage full of character and perfect location
Cabell Cottage could not have been more perfect for me, my two sisters, and my mom for a long weekend. First of all, the location is absolutely beautiful. Set off on a very private, quiet road and in the woods. We went for a walk each morning and saw lots of deer and just enjoyed the peacefulness. We toured Monticello, walked around UVa and of course went to a couple of wineries - all within 20 minutes or so of the cottage. The cottage itself is fabulous and has all sorts of little homey touches to it. Kitchen well stocked and we had plenty of space. They had a futon in the living area, so you could sleep even more if needbe, but still only has the 1 and a 1/2 baths, so keep that in mind. Also, any questions I had the host was very quick to respond (we had no issues, but I asked her about the area a bit). I would highly recommend staying here!

We love our stay. Cabell Cottage was beautiful, upscale and very comfortable for our college drop offs in Virginia!! It was as nice as the photos and the Master suite with the private screened porch was wonderful, and the bonus TV room was great too. The entire process was easy too. I highly recommend and hope to return!!

So happy to have found this charming cottage in a quiet neighborhood close to historical places, wineries, restaurants, shopping and nature. It was nice to come back after a full day visiting Monticello and Montpelier. We were able to relax and enjoy a good meal at home. We will definitely come back!

Beautiful cottage!
I took my mom here as a birthday trip and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The cottage is no more than 15-20 mins from downtown Charlottesville and in such a great location. The owners have decorated the cottage so beautifully and my mom loved the wood-burning fireplace even though we didn’t use it. We met the owners and they were extremely helpful and friendly. The only thing I would recommend would be a larger mirror in the guest bathroom, the lighting is a little dim so it’s harder to get ready but it wasn’t a major deal. Definitely one of the nicest places we’ve stayed at!

Peaceful wooded cottage with just a little runaround from homeowner
Cottage was clean, pretty, in a peaceful wooded neighborhood though a little more out of the way for our needs than expected (getting to grocery, restaurants, etc) Our only issue was check in, and I should note, was not the fault of Stay Charl. GPS takes you to owners driveway (cottage is just past this) and he was surprised we were there, saying the he expected us the following day and the cottage wasn’t ready. He was friendly, but turned us away and said “I guess I’ll see you tomorrow”. We were so baffled, we actually left and considered driving back the hour trip to our prior destination. We didn’t think we could get a room in C’Ville because of graduation. Luckily, we returned and he said everything was ready, though no apologies. Stay C did call us and make sure we got in ok. The owner was kind of joking about everything—when we asked how to access the cottage, not realizing there was a separate driveway, he told us we could park in his driveway and walk through the woods. Again, none of which is a reflection on Stay Charlottesville—they were great. I would just recommend clarification to not communicate with owners about check-in as he acknowledged that they don’t manage the reservations at all. It was just a little confusing, and the late evening runaround after a long day and drive was just a little unrelaxing. That said, it was a beautiful little cottage. The neighborhood was very beautiful with all the horse farms.
