We had a bachelor party/reunion for one of my best friends for 2 nights at this property. Beautiful, quiet and spacious place to stay for people who love the indoors or outside.

Fantastic!
I rented this home as a place friends & family could stay as well as the venue for my husband's 50th surprise party. It had everything my guests & myself could want. Lots of space to spread out while still allowing for large groups to gather. The teens loved the game room & movie theater. Fully stocked kitchen so you can cook anything you desire. The only drawback are all the stairs but us old folks managed just fine! Overall 5 star location & highly recommend.

Great spot for a family reunion
We stayed here when my nephew got married in Charlotte. Loved being on the lake and in the middle of the state park. Easy access to wedding activities in Charlotte too. There was room for everyone, and the teenage girls created a beauty bar in the master bath. We enjoyed hiking, kayaking and boating. Jack was super helpful too. Great place!

The house was great!!
We had 18 family members staying in the house and we had a great time!! We did have some older family members who struggled with the abundant amount of steps, but other than that our family was able to share quality time together as well as spread out in our own private space when needed.

Wonderful House
We rented the house for after our wedding for all our friends to celebrate in with us. The house was beautiful, the pictures on here do not do it justice. Everyone loved the house and are ready to come back again. Jack was always available for any questions and was helpful. We are looking forward to going back and enjoying the house again!

Perfect for big groups
Cabin and scenery was beautiful. Location was convenient also. The only thing our guests and I had a concern about was the water. We used bottled water to drink and cook, because of the strong iron smell/taste in the water. Overall though the house was perfect for our big group. We were never bored!

Excellent Family Location
My extended family rented this house out for Thanksgiving 2014 and had a wonderful time. We had 10 adults and 9 children staying in the house, and everyone had plenty of room. Jack (owner) couldn't have been more helpful, and the property was exactly as represented on the VRBO description. Since it was November, the lake was not an option for us, but this would make a great spot in the spring/summer/early fall when the weather is a bit warmer. You are tucked inside a national park, which makes for a beautiful scene to enjoy your vacation. We had a great time, and I would highly recommend this property to anyone with a large group.

great house, great location!
We had a family get together at this property and the sister property. the homes were well stocked with everything you would need for a long weekend. We brought a boat and the docks at both homes were great for tying up for a few days. we had 12 adults and 11 kids and we had plenty of room. Great time had by all. Jack was very easy to work with, gave great instructions for check in etc. The grocery store is a bit of a hike, but the flip side is, these homes are secluded on a little cul-de-sac in the middle of the state park. beautiful and quiet.

Great Reunion Spot
This house was fantastic for four Davidson College alums celebrating a reunion and getting to know each others' families after 20 years. Having four master bedrooms was key for us, and there was plenty of room for eight adults and seven children. The house is very well appointed - I can't think of anything that we looked for and couldn't find! And there was a lot to do in the house - puzzles, pool table, movies - and outside. The weather was warm, and we were in the lake every day. It was so easy to just wander down and hop in to cool off. I highly recommend this place for large groups!

Fantastic Vacation!
We rented both Boardwalk and Park Place for a birthday celebration. We stayed for five days and the accommodations held all 32 of us! The homes were just a short walk apart, and it was nice to have a bit of separation. The larger home was stunning. It was beautifully appointed and decorated. There were decks off of almost every room in the house and the location was beautiful. The smaller home is definitely more outdated and was a bit musty smelling, but its location provided for better swimming for everyone. Having use of both homes allowed us to use the larger one for meals and the smaller one for swimming. The lake is beautiful and the water was deep off of both docks. I would definitely recommend renting these properties. Jack Green, the owner, was so wonderful to deal with, and his propoerty manager met all of our needs (ie: more toilet paper!) immediately. We would definitely stay there again!

Great Rental
Stayed here for 8 days with 16 of us ranging from 11-70 years of age. Plenty of space for all of us. Teenagers loved the media room and playing xbox on the big screen. The kayaks and canoe were hit also. Caught lots of fish right off the dock and saw lots of deer on the roads in the state park. Close enough to Charlotte that we were able to go and visit Nascar Hall of Fame and kids enjoyed a "dry" day off the lake jumping at Defy Gravity trampoline place. House was very accommodating and relaxing. The house is set in a private cove and if we wanted to be part of the action on the lake we just paddled our rafts out and floated and hung out by the entrance of the cove. We rented a boat and paddleboard from Aqua adventures. Rent a boat so you can sight see all the beautiful houses on the huge lake! Saw lots of turtles and fish on the lake. I did mark 55+ below as we had some with us...however there are lots of stairs so if they don't do stairs this house might be a problem. Had a great vacation and stay! Highly recommend

Greatest Family Vacation Ever!
Our 19 family members said this over and over! They absolutely loved the house and all of its amenities. There was a bed or futon for everyone. My husband and I loved the master bath with its tiled shower with multiple shower heads. A few issues with small appliances like the coffee maker which was not good for a family of many coffee drinkers. We all loved the cove. It was great for the kids who loved playing in the lake jumping off the pier. Our daughter and son-in-law who live at the southern edge of Lake Norman brought up their boat and the cove accommodated the boat and one wave runner easily. They really liked the northern area of the lake. They said it was much smoother and less crowded than the southern part. The kayaks were fun and used a lot. We had no problems with parking. The multiple decks were good places to sit and read or just look at the lake. It is a great house and everyone in the family said they wanted to come back for our next family vacation. We will be back.

Family Reunion
We recently rented the home for a family reunion. We had a delightful visit. The listing description and photos all did a good job of describing the home accurately. If anything, the home is larger than it appears in the listing. There's a great little reading nook between the middle level bedrooms. There's a game table in the game room, in addition to the pool table. With three levels, multiple decks, the lake, and the game room, everyone had space to spread out and activities to stay entertained. The kitchen table is much larger than it appears in the photo, which was excellent for seating at meal time. The open kitchen/living room combination is ideal for coming together. The master suite and bathroom are enormous. We also enjoyed an added surprise of having access to two kayaks for use during our stay. Children and adults alike all enjoyed the boats. The cove is very nice and private for swimming. The owner was very helpful and responsive at all times. Plenty of extra linens were available, and little extras were in the entire house (like cooking spices, soap and other toiletries). Given the price of the home, there are a few areas that need improvement. An exterminator is definitely needed for the bugs that were especially bothersome in the basement level. A cleaning service would also be a benefit. We spent a significant amount of time trying to clean and get out by 10 am, and that was difficult to accomplish in such a large home when you allow time to pack, too. We definitely left the home cleaner than we found it. I swept the basement several times during our stay and killed bugs there often. Internet access did not work during our visit, which meant my husband had to return home to work and cut his time with our family short. All-in-all, the home is very secluded, spacious, and serene. We enjoyed the treehouse feel and seeing deer daily. With minor adjustments (exterminator, cleaning service, and internet access), the home would be ideally suited for future vacations and gatherings.
