Approximately 344-585 square feet, this state of the art studio features 1 Queen Bed or 2 Full Beds, and 1 Sofa Bed in the living area including a mini fridge, microwave and coffee pot, bathroom and laundry situated in the common area. Maximum of 4 occupants.

Additional amenities include: cable television and DVD player.


The person checking in must be 21 years of age (or older). With this notion, please prepare a VALID ID and credit card in your name. A $100 Pre-Authorization from any major credit card upon checking in is required. Cash is not accepted. After purchase you will receive an email confirmation showing your name on the reservation as the guest checking in within 14 days of check in date. Please bring a valid form of Picture ID. However, if you would like to change the name of the person checking in after you have provided this information, there will be a $99.00 name change fee. Any damages will be charge upon check-out.

Resort check- in time is 4 p.m. and check-out time is 10 a.m. The nearest airport to The Lodge Alley Inn is Charleston International (CHS) which is 13 miles by car respectively.

Hence, if you have any concerns, our office are open 24 hours to respond to your requests. For here at The Lodge Alley Inn we ensure that your stay is comfortable and well-served to your satisfaction.


*** Parking Policy ***

Off-site valet parking. Cost: $33 per night for Bluegreen Owners; $38 per night for Non-Bluegreen Owners. Handicap parking in the city public parking garage located at 1 Cumberland St., or metered street parking, with a valid sticker or placard is free, however the owner must park their own vehicle. If someone with a handicap placard or sticker wishes to valet, they are subject to the same Owner/Non-Owner daily rates. Owners and guests may self-park in the city public parking garage located at 1 Cumberland St. for $2/hour, max $18/day without moving the vehicle. After midnight or when the vehicle is moved out and back into the garage, the clock resets and $2/hour, max $18/day rate begins. One vehicle per reservation. No trailers, RVs, motorcycles, or oversized vehicles allowed. City public parking phone: (843) 805-3232. The resort is not responsible for any damages to vehicles while in the public parking garage.

No pets allowed. Subject to $300 fine. However, pets are permitted in RV parks only.

No smoking inside, including electronic cigarettes. Subject to $300 fine, unless if it's in a designated area.

Two-story (loft) units typically have spiral staircases, and other unit types also have staircases. We cannot guarantee unit placement. Due to the historic nature of the buildings, floor plans and exact sizes will vary among rooms and suites. While The Lodge Alley Inn does not offer daily maid service, complimentary towel exchange is available for guests staying less than 7 days. For guests staying 7 days or more, a complimentary mid-week cleaning service is provided. The Lodge Alley Inn is located in the heart of Downtown Charleston. Due to the urban location of the resort, guests may expect to hear city or street noise from guest rooms. The resort has white noise machines, ear plugs, and box fans available on request to help ease city, street and traffic noise.

Location is really wonderful
This is a great location to enjoy Charleston and our room was clean and mostly comfortable. I booked our visit for 4 days but somehow it was separated into two, 2 day reservations which we didn't notice until we checked it. This was not indicated at the time of booking. Luckily, the front desk was able to adjust this and we did not have to move. The main building where our unit was located seemed oddly unlevel. Our bathroom had a distinctive slope down to a single very low sink. The small area where the coffee maker, microwave, etc. is located was so small, we had to relocate items in order to have any space to deal with food. Lastly, the walls are not insulted much and we recommend ear plugs if you don't want to be bothered by music from the restaurant next door or family's with children in nearby rooms who are up early and bouncing off the walls. Not sure I would stay here again, but it is a great location.

Taylors visit
We enjoyed our stay. The air conditioning did not work. Maintenance probably saying so we could sleep there the first night. Next day we were transferred to another room couple of doors down where the air was working in similar accommodation, but we still have an enjoyable time other than having to pack up and move everything. Thank you for allowing us to have a good day.

Great location, good value in French Quarter
We enjoyed our stay at the Lodge Alley Inn. The location was great - easy walking distance to many great restaurants, rooftop bars and historic sites. The bed was very comfy, the bathroom spacious, and the sitting area was comfortable to hang out in. The staff was helpful and friendly but we didn't engage much wishing to avoid the sales pitch. Our only suggestion would be for a bit more light in the bedroom area. We would definitely check availability here for any future trips to Charleston.

We’ve stayed at Lodge Alley Inn many times and always have a great stay. The staff is always friendly and prompt to get you checked in. This room was one of the best with a balcony on the courtyard with a picture perfect cue. We hope to come back many more times!

Homeless in Charleston
Let me start by saying the property is outstanding. The location is perfect to see the sights in Charleston. However, the property is a timeshare and apparently the owner combined 2 rooms together for our stay. We paid for our reservation 4 months in advance. Once on site we were informed that we would have to move out the next day and find a hotel, then come back the following day and recheck in. Owner simply refunded 1 night leaving us homeless in Charleston. The concierge at the property, seeing our frustration, helped us work a 1 night stay at the Inn and charged us for that. Overall we waisted a day trying to coordinate a room. Very disappointed!!!

VRBO cancelled our first night without giving a reason!
When you combine VRBO and a time share property, you get a mess. Our first night was cancelled only 1 week before our stay, and no reason was given. The remaining 2 nights were fine, but we had to find a hotel for the night that was cancelled on us. We were promised a refund of the 1st night, but we haven't seen it yet, of course.

Great Location

The property sits in the best area for walking to everything. We enjoyed the carriage tour, the harbor tour and the aquarium this time we visited. Walking everywhere works most all the time for us, the city sidewalks can be a challenge at times in areas, the Lodge Ally in is a great place to stay, the staff there is the best . Always kind and greet you everyday and are always there to help in anyway. The Inn is kept very clean outside and in. Very beautiful courtyard is so relaxing to walk through and sit. Love this place!!

The location was perfect, and the room was really nice (despite not being the two queen beds we booked; ended up being one queen bed). There was construction, and the last night of our stay there were loud hammering and drilling sounds all night long. The phone would not call to the front desk, or call out at all. The main elevator was down, so we had to use the service elevator. All the doors with access to the street were unlocked the entire time, which made us feel very unsafe.

Great Location
We visit Historic Charleston often and have stayed in different areas around the city. This was the best location if you are interested in exploring the French Quarter, The Battery, Charleston Market and the shops on King Street. The Lodge Ally Inn was excellent. Quaint and comfortable accommodations with a private courtyard. The only negitive comment is that we felt pressured to meet with the concierge for a “welcome package”. We read other reviews that warned against these meetings because they were sales people trying to get you to purchase their timeshares. We did not go to Charleston to sit and listen to a sales presentation, so we did not agree to meet.

This is a fantastic property. Given the perfect Charleston location, the price of our room was more than reasonable. And, the room itself, closer to a suite, was as nice as any B&B we've stayed in. In short, it's a deal you shouldn't pass up

One thing to know before you rent
Room was clean and comfortable and the location could not have been better. It was within walking distance of great restaurants and the waterfront. They do have valet parking with the lodge but we used the parking garage down the street because it worked out to be cheaper. The only thing I wish would have been explained to us better when we booked and before we arrived, is that The Lodge is owned by Blue Green vacations, which is a vacation club that people buy into. Typically the only people allowed to stay here are blue green members and their guests. They do not rent rooms to the general public but some members have found a way to circumvent the system and rent out their rooms to non-members. Had we known this ahead of time, we would have been more prepared for the barrage of questions that we got by the “welcoming committee” about how we were able to get a room in the first place and we might have been able to avoid the 2 hour sales meeting that we had to sit through. We still thoroughly enjoyed our stay here though and would stay again purely for the location. Just be prepared for a time share sales pitch if you do book.
