The room wise nice, comfortable bed. Decor nice. The breakfast was a huge disappointment and not as advertised. There is no front desk and the only person available to talk to were the people who clean the rooms. When asked about the food that was advertised her answer was “we ran out”. It’s also not in the French Quarter and we had to drive to get there and pay a lot to park. I would recommend staying directly in the French Quarter.
Even though there were no staff on site, everything we needed was available. The room was clean, attractive and the bed was comfortable. We had direct access to the large second floor porch. We took the complimentary bikes down Ashley St. and around the Citadel. Breakfast was good (but only coffee mate for coffee). Would definitely stay again.
I would definitely stay here again. Convenient off street parking, quiet, and easily walkable to numerous places. The grab and go options were nice especially in the morning and returning after a long day.
The Ashley has the perfect vintage charm! Nicely remodeled with new amenities without losing the old Charleston feel. Breakfast availability was great and we didn’t have to use the car once, the property was within easy walking distance of everything we wanted to do. Will be back!
This is a beautiful old home and our room was lovely. The bathroom was gorgeous - the only thing I would change is to add a second mirror as the one above the sink was small and not very clear. A full length in the room would be amazing! We really enjoyed our stay. The breakfast was lack listed. Some real milk for coffee would have been nice. But there are cafes within walking distance and an amazing French patisserie in town.
We would stay here again if we came back to Charleston.
Be aware if it matters; it is not a full service bed and breakfast. There is no staff on site usually. The room and accommodations were fine but its more a self service model. Also it is about a mile or so to most of the main 'attractions' if walking is an issue.
I loved the aesthetic and comfort of this inn! I wish there was little bit more lighting in the room but otherwise I loved it! I thought the Christmas tree in parlor was such a lovely touch. I also really appreciate the help of the staff with letting me keep my bag in the parlor and working with me on my check out time! They were so helpful and responded so quickly! It’s a lovely and charming little place to stay and you really feel like you’re in the center of all the charm Charleston had to offer!
