This welcoming three-bedroom, three-bath penthouse apartment offers visitors convenient access to all that Charleston has to offer. Located on the third floor of a historic Charleston single home built in the late 1800s, and set back from the street with off-street parking, the apartment overlooks candy-colored historic homes that dot the neighborhood and provides a true Charleston experience for guests. Easily walkable to MUSC, College of Charleston, King Street and more!!!

The Space:
The apartment recently underwent a full renovation. Measuring 1000 square feet, the apartment offers three bedrooms featuring premium bedding and three en-suite bathrooms with shower. Thoughtful care has been put into crafting a clean and efficient space that offers all of the amenities of a boutique hotel (bath products, high-end towels and linens, hair dryers, iron, wi-fi, premium TV channels, etc.) with the added convenience of a full, chef-ready kitchen, washer/dryer, and a classic Charleston single-style porch for enjoying the nearly year-round comfortable temperatures Charleston offers its visitors. One complimentary parking space conveniently located directly across the street. Additional parking available at $20/day. This apartment is on the top floor of the three-story property. The home features two additional rentals - one, a garden level apartment, and the other on the first floor - that can be rented in conjunction with this apartment for larger groups. Please inquire if interested.

Guests can access all spaces in the rental and have their own private porch out front.

The Neighborhood:
This apartment is ideally located in a protected historic district in the middle of downtown, a 5 minute walk to Upper King Street, surrounded by incredible restaurants and shopping. Walk or uber anywhere downtown in minutes or grab an uber to one of the three island beaches that are only 15 minutes away.

Getting Around:
We are only 3 blocks from Upper King Street, so most guests prefer to walk and explore the city. The beach is 15 minutes away by car. There is also a free shuttle offered by the city that runs along King Street (3 blocks away) to popular stops. Bike rentals are available nearby or you might enjoy trying a pedicab taxi. We offer free parking in our lot across the street.

Perfect Set-Up!
Loved the fact that the three bedrooms each had their own bathroom. That was a game changer. Everything was nice and clean and well though out. If I even had to have a complaint it would be that the couch was a bit uncomfortable : ) but otherwise we had a great stay and would recommend this place for sure!

The linens on the beds were beautiful, the beds/pillows were comfortable, the kitchen was fully loaded to prepare a meal, and when we needed lightbulbs, they were there in minutes! We will be back at Christmas.

Charming property and great location!
My family of 4 absolutely loved our stay here!! You can tell the owners take so much pride in their home. The space is so well cared for, charming and comfy. Highly recommend for a stay in Charleston. Great location to downtown, we walked everywhere. There is a delicious soup spot (Ladles) right next door, a bakery a few steps away and a yummy coffee spot. We travelled with two teens and loved that they were able to have their own full bathroom. Stay here, you won't be disappointed!

Really cool restored location behind an restaurant located in a old house, intimate courtyard and beautiful landscaping brings you into a very comfortable apartment. Great communication with the property manager and we had everything we needed. 5 Stars

The listing is beautiful and you can tell the care and thought the owners have taken to make the place what it is. Parking is a tight squeeze and difficult to get in and out as there are often cones blocking the access road. Had an issue where our door closed and we were locked out. Had to wait two and half hours for someone to come and let us in. We called four times and each time they would tell us they would be there in 15 minutes, but not show up.

For a 4-day, 3-night stay in a city with 90+ degree temperatures & 100+ degree heat indexes and a home w/ 3 showers, it is expected that showers deliver warm/hot water. Only 1 shower worked, but plumbing was reversed (hot is cold/cold is hot). Plus, the fire alarm surprisingly went off, forcing us out of the house b/c too loud and the fire dept. showed up late. Otherwise the house is nice, but for the cost to choose VRBO for lodging, I expect stay arrangements to be great.

Family Vacation
We chose this property for 2 main reasons: it's proximity to King Street (easy walking distance) & the 3 bedroom/3 full bathroom set-up. George was so easy to communicate with & very responsive to messages. Our check-in person, Jace, was great too. We asked for recommendations in the area & she was very helpful. The place was as advertised & very clean. One downside was that upon check-in we were told that one of the showers was not usable. That was disappointing because we had 3 couples that each needed a shower, but we worked around that. We also had issues with the air conditioning, but George was very responsive & came out with his HVAC guy at 10:30pm to get it fixed! Thanks George! The TV set-up is hard to use & we couldn't get any local channels to watch a weather forecast or just relax & watch some TV. We could log-on to any streaming service we had, so that was nice to watch movies on our 1 rainy day. There is construction next door, but it didn't bother us all, so don't worry about that. Overall we loved the house & would highly recommend it. It's only 20 minutes from the airport & Uber's are easy to get, so a rental car is not totally necessary & as I said, you can walk to all of the bars & restaurants on King Street & Market Street if you want, anywhere from 5 min to 20 min.

The unit set up perfectly for us in that each couple had their own private bath. The area is thriving with a lot of renovation underway. King Street with lots of shops, restaurants, etc. is only a few blocks away. Property manager was very responsive. Definitely would stay here again.

Three couples, friends of 45+ years, had an awesome stay at this property! We had 3 bedrooms, each with a private bath, great room to socialize, and a well stocked kitchen. The location was great….. we could walk to King Street and several great restaurants. We loved Charleston! We’ll be back!
