Perfect Getaway!
Not too far from home, so it was the perfect place to relax, fish, and swim. The dock was simply amazing and where went spent the majority of time. Home was very clean and decorated nicely with everything we could want or need. Thank you and we will be back!

Great Birthday weekend
The property was great. Clean, stocked really well, great location and lake access. The owners were very communicative ensuring we didnt need or want for anything. One of the best vrbo rentals we have experienced.

Nice property.
We had a family reunion about a mile away so we just slept at the house. Very well stocked. Normally I cook a lot but didn’t here. Not sure how I would have like the oven. Very good directions on how everything works. Enjoyed the stay.

The Blue Pelican is perfect family place
Our family & 2 dogs loved this house & boathouse. We loved the layout of the house, big fully stocked kitchen, screened in porch, fishing off the boat dock, large yard for the pooches to run around & just relaxing! We will be back! And owners are so easy to work with & are responsive to all of my questions. Thanks for sharing your home to us.

Pleasant stay on the lake
The Blue Pelican lake house was well equipped for our 7 person, 3 night stay over Thanksgiving. Plenty of space, seating, dining areas and entertainment for all. Nice covered boat dock where we launched our kayaks from. Enjoyed time around the fire pit using the seasoned fire wood that was provided. Historic electric oven was able to handle our Thanksgiving preparations along with the dual gas and charcoal grill.

perfect family retreat
We had an amazing weekend at the Blue Pelican! Our host provided a clean, well-appointed resort for us to enjoy a carefree time with our daughter and grandson. Comfortable beds to rest in after days of playing in the huge, fenced-in yard with lakefront and dock. We caught fish off the dock, flew a kite and paper airplanes, tossed the frisbee, and had a hotdog roast/s'more picnic at the firepit. We never wanted to leave. We played available board games in abundance; as well as electronic games.

Refreshed in the water!
Stayed here for 4 nights. The water was great and refreshing. We had our own kayak but there is great flotation available. Beautiful dock with a breeze. We liked to float around the dock. House has your every need. We grilled and cooked most nights. Picked up take out one night. Great yard for dog!! We would definitely stay again.

Perfect lake property
This home was immaculately clean - no small feat considering pets are allowed. The yard and dock were also in great condition. The home was more generously stocked with necessities and extras than any we have stayed in previously- lots of thoughtful touches and items I always bring with us because they are rarely provided. The homeowner was responsive, and check-in/check-out were easy. The home, property, and neighborhood all felt safe, and we had a relaxing week at the lake. Five stars!!

Amazing location
This house is in a beautiful bay, which is very serene great for skiing and fishing. We enjoyed waking up and drinking our coffee on the dock. This house is extremely equipped. The kitchen was stocked with everything a person could need appliance wise and with supplies. The linens and towels are high quality, and the decorations are adorable at this house. We never had to leave and go to the store for anything other than our food. We highly recommend this VRBO and we will definitely book here again. The host was very kind and helpful. We were even able to tie up our boat To their dock for three days so that we didn’t have to take it out of the water, which was very nice. Dont wait, book now!

Great pet friendly house with awesome dock!
Our group of 4 adults (and a Great Pyrenees/Great Dane mix dog) had a wonderful long weekend stay at the Blue Pelican! House is older but very clean and nicely updated with comfortable furnishings and beds. We spent most of our time down on the dock. It has big covered areas to sit in the shade and also big open area for those who want sun. Our group caught fish from the dock, went kayaking on the lake, enjoyed the fire pit in the evenings, and after showering (plenty of hot water!), gathered in the living room for movie nights. We also really appreciated the fully fenced super large yard for our dog to run around! She enjoyed chasing squirrels and then taking a nap in the shade on the dock while we enjoyed the lake. Thank you for sharing your house! We hope to visit again!

We had a wonderful time at this lake house. Unlike the last review. We didn't have any problems with the property. We never ran out of hot water. The beds are very comfortable. The owner did not have a lot of rules. We cooked every day. The kitchen is well stocked. They even provide wood for the fire pit. The owner went above and beyond with a s'mores basket and baskets in both bathrooms with any necessities you may have forgot. The wifi works very good. Plenty pillows, blankets, and towels were provided. We loved this house. Don't hesitate to rent it.

Great place to relax and unwind
The Blue Pelican was just perfect for what we needed. We spent most of our time outside either at the dock or at the table looking at the lake and watching the dogs run an chase birds and squirrels in the fabulous dog yard. The dock is new and has both a covered area and open deck with a protected swimming area. The house design was relaxing and the kitchen was the best stocked rental we’ve had, which was very appreciated. You really feel like you’re at home. We decided we could get used to lake living!

If you have PETS or CHILDREN DO NOT RENT this property! DO A WALK IN AND OUT video if you do rent.
I had high hopes for this place since it had a few good reviews. The property itself is ok. A few problems like running out of hot water, slippery stairs down to the water and uncomfortable beds. But hey, you don't own it, you can just ignore all that and have a nice time. What is difficult to ignore is the host. If you are looking to disconnect and have privacy, this is not the place for you. If you enjoy constant texts, long emails and a huge binder full of rules, then you might like it. I slept in the hot sunroom because this place is full of carpet. I was careful with my dogs but, this lady accused me of ruing her carpet. She said she goes through with a black-light and looks for spills and dog accidents. I know for a fact that the front door area had dog urine on it when I got there because I could smell it and my dogs kept smelling it. She said I left trash everywhere. ( I literally had about 6 empty water bottles sitting about, and some dry food packages when I left) I did wash dishes and fold/wash every towel and bath rug before I left. I figured that takes longer than picking up a few water bottles. I felt like I took good care of the place, but this lady seems like a scammer. She said she needed her furniture cleaned and carpet cleaned and billed in addition to her deposits. Then she filed on my insurance as well. She really dreamed up everything she could to say her whole house was ruined. Then, literally submitted 4 pictures of what looked like dirt taken from her yard and rubbed on the carpet and one finger mark on an old chair. (also showed two old water marks on the same chairs) If someone ruined your whole house wouldn't you have all kinds of pictures, videos..... maybe call the police for vandalism? This lady seems unstable and is very attached to this house. She tires to regulate everything and says she has remote access to the house. I would suspect this house may be monitored. I told her to stop messaging me days after I left and I would not leave a review but she kept doing it. I got at least a few messages over a lost dollar store floaty when my son fell down the slippery stairs and the current took it. She never asked if he was ok and brought up the floaty in multiple communications. I had also asked about the safety of swimming out there prior to going. She never once mentioned those stairs have to cleaned everyday before swimming. I left a scrub brush for the next person who rents. Buyer beware on this one!

Tranquil Lake Palestine
Great one week stay at the Blue Pelican. Relaxing mornings and relaxing evenings. We canoed, swam by the dock, drank coffee watching the sunrise across the lake, cool lake water to take away the summer heat, bird photography whilst canoeing, outdoor activities in the large yard, bicycling in the neighborhood, cooking at 'home' in the well equipped kitchen, made 'smores at the fire pit, and grilled a few suppers. Hung out with the kids and grandkids. Played games and relaxed some more. All had a great time. We should have booked two weeks! Chandler is nearby for groceries and BBQ. Everyone we met in town was SO friendly! We would easily come back to Lake Palestine and the Blue Pelican!!

Great getaway
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house was spacious and roomy. The fishing pier is the best that we have seen in comparison to all of the other rentals that we have stayed at. The welcoming basket was a real nice touch. Very spacious kitchen to prepare meals and very well stocked.

Perfect lake retreat!
I can’t say enough good things about our stay at the Blue Pelican! Mitzi is an incredibly courteous host. The house was spotless and had everything we needed to cook up a storm! Great location. Very quiet, large yard. Fished from the pier in the evenings and relaxed by the fire pit at night. Can’t wait to go back!
