The Space:
The Flat is a 394-square foot 2-bedroom unit. It has been updated from floor to ceiling; the cozy space has been thoughtfully appointed. The Flat has thoughtful & varied amenities. In-Room Air Conditioning, Professional Hair Dryer, Boutique Bath Products, Robes, Incredible Linens, Complimentary Wireless Internet, Clothing Steamer, Fan, In-Room Heaters & more available upon request.
Bedroom #1 has a queen bed with a small sitting area, which includes a table for 2 & lounge chair. Bedroom #2 has a queen bed & twin trundle. The kitchenette is equipped with a Breville toaster oven, microwave, mini fridge, coffee maker & grinder. The Flat has its own washer & dryer. A powerful portable air conditioning unit is provided for your comfort. The bathroom has a tiled shower & double vanity.
Guests of The Flat may enjoy the creekside fire pit & our garden area—which includes seating, a hammock nestled between large trees & a charcoal grill.
Guest Access:
There is free parking on the property. Boat & snowmobile trailers can be accommodated.
Public access to Intermediate Lake—which connects to the Upper Chain of Lakes— is 1 block away. Torch Lake is 4 miles from The Flat.
Guests 12+ are welcome.
The Neighborhood:
The Flat is located on Main Street in downtown Central Lake, a quiet & quintessential Northern Michigan town. Central Lake rests on the shores of Intermediate Lake; public access is only a block away. Spend your days exploring all Northern MI has to offer—Central Lake is truly central & a great home base for day trips to popular destinations like Traverse City, Sleeping Bear Dunes, Mackinac Island, Fishtown, the wineries of Old Mission & Leelanau Peninsulas, Charlevoix, Boyne, Petoskey, & Bellaire.
Enjoy easy walkable access to some of our Central Lake favorites like Mammoth Distillery, Fudgees, & Bachmann's Store. Our local grocery store, Merrie's Market, is also less than a 5-minute walk.
Fishing, kayaking, SUP, biking & boating are all popular with guests. For local rentals, try Paddles & Pedals or Dewitt Marine.
Other Things to Note:
Our head mouser, Leo the black cat lives on the property & may try to sneak in, but he is not allowed ;-) You are more than welcome to feed him a can of tuna if you'd like.
There is an EV charger 2 blocks from The Flat, at Merrie's Market.
Interaction with Guests:
We do have a Property Manager close by in case of emergency, but guest of The Flat should not expect someone on-site.
