Wonderful

It was a wonderful place to come back to every night after our daily adventures. My kids loved all the games and books and we loved the quality family time.
We liked that the cabin supports a nonprofit that provides outdoor experiences for urban youth. Kitchen is very well appointed, there are many comfortable places to sit, lighting is good, beds and bedding are good, and there are games and books for all ages. Many hiking trails nearby. Wifi is good but cell phone service is nil throughout the valley and we recommend stocking up on food. Stow's Corner Store & Cafe, the nearest option is excellent, but check their hours.

Not what was advertised
Host was responsive and helpful but house is not a four bedroom is a one bedroom wifi barley worked there was no door on one of the so called bedrooms and we found mice in the house during our stay
Wonderful to have a nice place to stay with all the basics (even coffee and washer/dryer) and the pleasure of the woods, Mau's nearby Country Store, and Basin Pond.
Keep up the good work!
If you're looking for real seclusion, this is the place to go. The house is surrounded by woods, no neighbors in sight. Exactly what I was hoping for. It is about 30-40min to any stores or restaurants, so this may not be the place for anyone looking to be close to civilization. The house was adorable, spotless, and very well stocked with extra linens, dishes, and even a welcome bag with shampoo, conditioner, and some other shower supplies. The main bedroom on the first floor was beautiful, bright and sunny, and the bed, pillows, and blankets were soooo comfy. Also, Veronica was very easy to communicate with. She made the process of adding an extra day easy. I would definitely stay here again.
Enjoyable stay while staying near the White Mountains. Great location, easy access to tons of hiking trails and scenic drives. 10 minutes to Stow Corner Store- great food and staff! Cabin/cottage is small - comfy, especially the bedroom downstairs! Washer and dryer was handy - small kitchen and dining room equipped with all the necessities. Great week in the mountains!
I didn't stay in the house much had a lot of places to go during the day was back late in the evening overall I will return, loved the corner store friendly owner and nice food. The owner of the cabin was very responsive

Very quiet and peaceful
This is a beautiful area to visit. The house has everything you might possibly need and is comfortable. I especially liked the fact that there is no television. We drove around a lot mostly because it was so hot so we would hop in the car and take off. I am glad we did that. I was disappointed by the fact that the house is right on the road but the traffic is minimal so no problem there. We visited antique shops in Bethel and Lovel. Everyone we met was friendly. Scenery is beautiful, NH is a beautiful place.

Fall in the White Mountains
A cozy little cabin in the woods, as the fall colors improved every day -- what a treat. A hike, and sunsets over Basin Pond up the road,
wonderful meals, ice cream, cinnamons rolls at Stow Corner Store down the road, peace and quiet, or the Fryeburg Fair! Choices during the day and the full moon at night.
No better get-away from our too hectic lives....

Hidden Gem
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Thayer Cabin! It truly is a hidden gem. Far enough away from it all that you can unplug, relax and really unwind, yet within an hour's drive from many attractions, like the Mt. Washington Auto Road (incredible, by the way), North Conway Outlets, and Franconia Notch State Park. We asked if moose had ever been spotted on the property, and were told that as moose are timid creatures, only once in nearly 30 years. We were so fortunate that we actually were able to see one about 4 miles north of the cabin!! It was an amazing sight!
The cabin is very well maintained, was furnished with all bedding and towels. A supply of firewood was provided. All we needed to bring was our personal items, and groceries.
My adult son found a craft beer bar within 30 minutes in Lovell, ME and it was a fantastic find. Ebenezer's Pub had loads of beer to try and the food was top notch!! Another place to try is the Stow Corner Store and Cafe - Fantastic food and delightful home made pastries and desserts - try the Steak Bomb - you won't regret it! And if cinnamon rolls are available, get one-it's enough for 2 to share!
Overall, our stay was wonderful; just the right combination of activities and just good old R & R!! We will definitely be back!!
Thank you for opening up this lovely hidden gem for folks to get away to! It was a pleasure to stay there!!

Quiet & very relaxing!
My husband & I stayed here with our 3 girls and had a great time. We did a lot of hiking - some around the cabin as well as Mt. Washington, which was only about 1/2 hour drive to the base at Pinkham Notch. The cabin was perfect for us. The girls had their own space upstairs & we had a quiet space downstairs. Everything you could need was there - dishes, towels, etc. - even a few toiletries should you forget something! We built a small fire in the fire pit & enjoyed the beauty around us. There were lots of mosquitos (which we were kindly warned of in advance), but nothing some Off Deep Woods couldn't keep away. There was no cell service, but that was perfect - we needed to get away from it all. We put the address into our phone's GPS, knowing it wouldn't get us to the exact location of the cabin. However, the GPS surprised us & took us to the exact location of the cabin.
Overall, it was great & we hope to stay there again!

A Quiet Stay in Nature
I love this place. My family and I have stayed twice now and love it. We can play out side and close to trails to hike, from a quick run to Emerald Pool, to the challenge of the Bald Face range. The house is a little home away from home.

Great place, super location
Even on one of the the coldest weekends of the winter (-5), the cabin was warm, inviting, well-stocked, clean, good wifi. Responsive manager and caretaker. Minutes from excellent hiking. Highly recommend.

Quiet Get -away
A group of my friends and I went here for a week in February. It had snowed a total of 91 inches during the season and was gorgeous. We used our snow shoes in the area to hike around and we also rented snow mobiles in a nearby town on 2 separate occasions. The only struggle we had was ensuring that the drive was plowed to get in and we had a hard time finding the location. During the winter months the road is closed to access the house from the North. There was a blizzard and the sign was covered so it was hard to get to the house. I highly recommend bringing an actual map in the winter months. GPS does not locate the property and there is no cellular data.

Our stay at the Thayer Cabin
I took my family (wife and 6 month son) and 3 adult family members. The house was quiet, cozy and relaxing. Great kitchen with fridge, stove, microwave, coffee maker and all the plates, cups, mugs, pots & pans and utensils included. Wifi and Washer and dryer came in handy with a 6 month old. We shopped for groceries and ate most meals at the cabin. Meals out we went to the Stowe Corner store just 5 mins south from cabin on RTE 113. We hiked to the summit of Bald Face Mtn. trail head just 2 mins south of cabin. Beautiful views from the summit! Challenging hike but worth it. We picnicked at Basin Pond just 5 mins north on RTE 113 and also went to Mt. Washington 40 min. drive to Gorham N.H. then follow the signs. Great vacation! We saw one Moose and even a Bear during our visit. Great value for the price. We will be back to stay again. Only bad experience we had was loosing WiFi during a big rain storm, but the property manager walked us through how to reset it.

High climber
This is a great little cabin in the woods in the White Mountains. It has great access to hiking trails in this part of the White Mountains. There is also a great little store within driving or bicycle distance. Speaking of that we saw a few bicyclist going by the house so it must be popular here. There was lots & lots of beautiful pictures to be taken everywhere we went. They had Wifi which was nice to have. There was also games there to play & a few books. There are also some very quaint little towns within driving distance with plenty of shopping & restaurants to go to. Over all a nice place to visit when you want peace & quiet.

New England at its best!
I stayed at this cabin in July and also back in May. The area has a lot to offer for all 4 seasons. I hope to stay there during the fall and winter seasons at some point as well. There is much to do in the area like fishing, hunting, hiking, cross country skiing and snowmobiling. It is not far from the famous Presidential Mountain Range where you can either summit Mount Washington (6288 ft) or just enjoy a leisurely drive though the mountains and valleys. The cabin is quite comfortable for a group of 6-7 people and offers a great location to enjoying the area's attractions or to just enjoy the solitude of the property. I would highly recommend this quaint cabin for any who desires to explore New England at any time of the year.
P.S. - Check out the corner store in Stowe, which is about 8 miles south of the cabin. Enjoy a great pastry, ice cream or a gourmet sandwich. Maureen (Moe) and Jimmy are the owners and they have a knack for making everyone feel welcome and at home!

Bucolic Setting
A bucolic setting away from it all but near the Presidential Range, including Mt. Washington. Lots of hiking for everyone, from the novice up to the expert. The house is quite comfortable and sits on a multi-acre camp that provides a nice respite for relaxing and reading after a hard day of hiking or a full day of touring. The Cold River runs next to the property and is a short hike from the house. It is in a spectacular location.
