Wonderful getaway
Very nice property. Wonderfully decorated with attention to detail. The pool has a really nice water fall that is relaxing. We enjoyed the movie by the pool. Game room was awesome. And the hosts were extremely polite and gracious.

The property description is just as it appears in real life. The house is definitely well cared for and has high tech functionality mixed in with its wonderful decor. Everything you need is within a 20min drive and there is plenty of kitchen to load up for your stay. The heated pool was awesome at night and the bedroom/bathroom situation was perfect for 4 families.. Definitely worth it.

Fun Spring Break Trip
Very Responsive Owners, they will quickly help you if any issues arise. Our family enjoyed the movie screen outside, smores, shopping in Bastrop (I never knew Bastrop had that much traffic), games, heated pool, hot tub, fishing, and boating. With the pond being 5 foot low the fish were SO easy to catch too! There was enough room for 7 of us to sleep comfortably. During our stay we experienced weather in the 50's and mid 80s, their AC and Heat worked well, beds were comfortable. Appliances for cooking were great- there is a cube ice machine on the patio along with a fire place.

Dream property
Our family of eight (six adults and two kids) stayed for three nights at Mesquite Retreat. While the lovely home was comfortable, clean, and spacious, we spent most of our time outside in the beautiful pool and hot tub area. The homeowners have thought of everything a guest might need—from pool floats and toys to beach towels to flotation devices for young children. Our family enjoyed lounging in the sun and shade, playing foosball, and relaxing in the beautiful backyard. The kids even got to feed the fish in the pond on the property. The highlight of our stay was turning on the pool lights and watching a movie by the pool. Our stay could not have been better. We attended the Formula 1 race at COTA, and the travel to and from the track from the house was very easy. Overall, this house is the perfect place to stay if you want to feel like you’re in “real Texas” while also having the amenities of Austin.

We had the opportunity to stay here before so when we found out a friend’s wedding was in Cedar Creek there was no question on where we would stay. This home is very clean. The property has so much to offer. Our grandchildren stayed busy swimming, fishing and exploring. We will definitely be reserving it again.

Spacious Retreat
Our family loved this place! House is huge and plenty of outdoor space! Started off the morning on front porch drinking coffee and watching deer! Then moved to back patio- swimming, foosball for 6 yo, fabulous pool with lots of umbrellas, several grills for cooking, and ended day watching movies on huge outdoor movie screen! And did I mention the nugget ice machine!!! Owners were very easy and prompt to work with!!

3-generation getaway
This was our best home rental experience ever. VRBO should hire Hershel and Becky to teach all of their owners how to take care of their guests, and their properties. Before we even arrived, they took care of a potential serious problem while they were themselves on vacation in Europe. They arrived home the evening our stay began, and Hershel came over the next morning to familiarize us with all of the amenities of the property. And there were plenty of them: starting with a fantastic swimming pool with waterfall, an outdoor movie screen and projector, and an array of outdoor cookers. Our teenagers also loved the pond, with fishing, a paddle boat, and a kayak. With five bedrooms and additional sleeping spaces, the house had more than enough beds for our group of ten. Three full bathrooms took care of our needs, and the kitchen had all the cookware and appliances we needed. This place was a huge hit with our entire group, and we'll be back.

It is a retreat
We were staying with our kids and grandkids for a long weekend. (This is our third or forty time!). The pool is so inviting and we love watching a movie (Sandlot of course) together at night. Then there’s fishing in the pond, playing games, and riding in the golf cart. There was a glitch in the fridge but we texted and had a workaround in 30 minutes!
