Looking for a quiet getaway near the water and the mountains, but tired of moose and bear decor? Stay at The Chalet at Lake Weiss. Relax in a soft color palette with direct access to water February through September, and wooded countryside year-round.
Explore hiking trails and rock climbing in the southern Appalachian lowlands. Fish for bass and crappie in our lake. Jump off the dock for shallow swimming in the warm months, walk outside on any clear night and see a sky full of stars!
Sleep up to six in our cozy chalet.
Let the kids have their privacy in the sleeping loft (2 full beds), complete with a reading nook, books!
Watch a family movie on the smart TV with a fire in the gas fireplace.
Bring your kayaks, SUPs, canoes, and hop right in the water most months of the year. Bring your own pontoon or fishing boat and use our on-site boat launch. Area roads are long and uncongested—perfect for a serene bike ride.
Cook family dinners in our fully-stocked kitchen and enjoy them indoors or on the deck at a 1940s Biergarten table while looking at the water. Want to grill? We have gas and charcoal grills.
Hiking, waterfalls, rock climbing, antique shops, and even a seasonal waterpark are all within a short drive.
House, deck, dock, immediate acreage, but DO NOT venture past tree lines onto other properties.

House, deck, dock, immediate acreage (and there's a lot of it as the house sits on 2.5 acres!), but DO NOT venture past tree lines onto other properties.
Other things to note
Early check ins and late check outs are not typically possible.
Weiss Chalet has a Ring camera at the front door and a security camera at the driveway entrance. There are no interior cameras at the property. There are 3 steps up to the front porch and a spiral staircase inside the chalet to the loft.
You will be staying in a rural and wooded area, so there will be insects and some lizards, maybe even deer! We have regular extermination care, but that does not eliminate all insects. Please be prepared to appreciate the natural setting.
*Please note that due to the chalet's high ceilings and Alabama heat & humidity, our thermostat has a cooling threshold of 69 degrees during hot months. Trying to set it below that runs the risk of the unit freezing over and not working.*
