Cozy Bear Paradise on Weiss Lake in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains

One fall afternoon my husband and I sat on the ground looking at the reflection of the autumn leaves on the water and I knew we had found our little piece of paradise. Over the years children and grandchildren have experienced the joy of having a lakehouse. Swimming, tubing, roasting marshmallows, fishing and much much more. The area seems to have something for everyone - historical sites, rock climbing, waterfalls, crappie capitol of the world, shops to browse, Alabama Band fan club, artisan area, night sky for stargazing and the list goes on. Our three story home has room to spread out, a screened porch that makes you feel like being in a treehouse and a calm peaceful feeling. Whether you like to curl up and read a good book, stay on the go every minute or somewhere in between this place will suit your needs. We love our place but we don't get to use it as often as we did. So we decided to let others enjoy it while we are not there. While there are bears in the area it is unlikely that you will see one outside. Inside on the other hand is a different story.

There is a security camera on the corner of the house facing the driveway. The purpose of the camera is strictly for security.

Several people have asked if we have our own dock. Yes we do. It is the cover photo. If you rent from us, there are three docks and ours is the one in the middle.

Cozy Bear Hideaway
Great location, close to area attractions. Proximity to Georgia shopping and horseback riding was a bonus. Definitely on our repeat list for family getaways.

Perfect house for a relaxing weekend getaway. Great location for privacy and fishing. The house was very nice and stocked with everything we needed. Owners were very responsive to any questions. We would definitely revisit.

Beautiful Place
Celebrated our 9th anniversary at Cozy Bear. It was such a beautiful place to get away and relax. The house was amazing and the owners did an awesome job welcoming us.

Perfect little vacay with the family. We thoroughly enjoyed everything! The kitchen was equipped with pretty much any tool needed to cook. The boys loved the pool table and we enjoyed the screened in porch!

Great Stay
Our family enjoyed our stay at bear paw it was a great house and a quite neighborhood. The house was spacious and had plenty of space for everyone . The property also included two air mattresses that was great for the kids. If your looking for a spacious and peaceful stay this is your place. This will be my go to when I come back to the area.

Lake Life
We enjoyed our stay at the lake. It was a great place to celebrate my dads birthday. The kitchen was really well stocked (pots, pans, etc.), the house itself very comfortable and we really enjoyed the screened porch. We brought in our own pontoon boat so we could also make use of the dock and lake during our stay.

Had a great time with family. The place was very clean and very well stocked with everything you would need. It even has a waffle maker which we used a lot! The pool table and shuffle board were an added bonus! Enjoyed those for night time fun! The screened porch was so quiet and relaxing. Enjoyed sitting on the dock which was so peaceful and quiet. We had a great time!

Great Lake House
The house was perfect for our weekend stay. The kitchen was well equipped, the beds were comfy, the dock (it is the middle one of the 3 you can see from the house!) was new and sturdy, and the pool table and fire pit were both fun to use. The hosts could not have been nicer and we really appreciated having the room to park several vehicles because we had people arriving from all directions. We hope to be back soon!

A dream experience
Everything was spotless and even more beautiful than the photos portray. The decor is Soo charming- really sets the mood for a wonderful experience. There were thoughtful little baskets containing treats and incidentals in strategic places. The view! The fire pit! The dock! Deer, fish, egrets, herons and rustling leaves create a wonderful mood. Can't thank you enough for everything. Our family drive from Atlanta and Florida to share a magical experience.

The House Of Tranquility
What a wonderful place for our three generations to meet and thoroughly enjoy being together. This retreat has everything you could possibly want inside and out! We were so impressed with the lift beside the front porch for lifting all our items from our cars to the main floor. It has a fully stocked kitchen, just bring your own food. There are several places outside where there are benches and swings to watch the sun come up or go down. So peaceful ! This is the perfect place for you to relax and enjoy being back to nature. Our host Tamara, did a splendid job and answered every question we had. We really felt at home at Cozy Bear Paradise.

What a "beary" cute house! The bed upstairs in the master was so comfy! I love that all the bathrooms had baskets with toiletries and there was a snack basket with bug bracelets. Very thoughtful! Also, there were so many appliances and cookware in the kitchen. We loved the dock as well even though we caught the tiniest fish in the lake. We had a great time relaxing and playing games in the basement as well! We unfortunately had to leave in in-laws there for the last day as there was a death in the family but we definitely didn't want to leave. Thanks for sharing the Cozy Bear with us!!

Memorial Day 2023
Lake is not for any type of recreation boating, shallow, logs, snakes galore. No pull offs or safe swimming areas. As for the house. Don’t get me wrong in this review the house was nice at one time but currently a little TLC and deep clean would do drastic improvements to this arbnb. A lot of broken or missing items. We actually did work to the place while we were there to help. Flea and gnat issues. Spiders. Water leaks, spoiled, out of date food taking a lot of the room in refrigerator and cabinets. Dirty toilets. Sticky cabinets. Floors were filthy. We did enjoy and make the best of our stay. Not the best trip however. Also no ck in instructions previous to arrival. Couldn’t message only call her. I’m sure there more I did not mention.

Great cabin but wifi is a hotspot
The cabin is lovely and it is definitely cozy. You have everything you need and then some. Tamara goes out of her way to make you feel welcome. The beds and furniture are comfortable which isn’t always the case. I will note, because I was not aware, and I realize I should have asked although I feel it is usually noted…the wifi here is a hot spot and isn’t strong enough to stream anything. On top of that, it died and wouldn’t charge after one day. We contacted the owner and were given ideas to make it work, but it would no longer hold a charge. There was hardly any cell signal inside the house, we have Verizon, which is the same brand as the hotspot. I know some people are fine with no wifi or cell signal while on vacation, however we like to bring our firestick and stream movies at night. We do also like to check in on our home security cameras and emails. So if you are like us and prefer to have solid wifi and streaming access, please be aware before you book. The only other thing I would note is the neighbors are super close, it’s more like a family compound where you share a yard and the dock is basically behind the neighbors’ house. As great as this cabin is, unfortunately we will not book it again because of the wifi issue.

Roomy house on lovely lake
The house and location was just what we needed. The 3 bedrooms meant we each had privacy, and our own air conditioner. loved the 3 bathrooms and screened-in porch . Love loved the dock, kayaks, floats, grill. pool table, games, TVs, stocked kitchen, air fryer, and comfortable seating. Very happy with this location on Weiss Lake.

The house was exactly as described. Located on a quiet cove of the lake. We enjoyed our stay and spent most of it on the screened porch looking at the water. The view was understandably (season of the year) somewhat obstructed by tree leaves but still great. We would definitely stay there again.
