The property was in a quiet area a little bit away from the busier streets - which are pretty quiet, too, on Caye Caulker. It was nice to have the four cottages together, we met and socialized with some great people! We used property bicycles to get around, and could reach everywhere on this pretty, laid-back island caye.

We had an amazing time at the cottage. The pool was great, we swam every day! Everyone we encountered was extremely nice and showed us an amazing amount of hospitality.
Truly enjoyed our stay at the cottage. Had everything we could possibly need in terms of space, amenities, and supplies. While the cottages are in a pretty close space there is still plenty of room around the pool and everyone was respectful.
It is just a short walk to the more busy areas of Caye Caulker, and it was nice to have a quiet and well lit walk back to the cottage at the end of the night.
Arrived and was met by Michael Joseph at the property. He was so helpful and kind. The unit was a perfect size and the location was a few minute bike ride to front street. I frequent CC often and this rental is one I’d come back to. Thank you!
Charming, newer build that provided everything we needed. The staff was the best part- very kind, responsive and accommodating. Property is a bit out of the way- off the beaten path, in a quiet neighborhood. I prefer somewhere nicer like so, even if not centrally located. Recommend you grab a golf cart to taxi you in upon arrival.
Thought the layout of the units location and cleanliness was great. Michael was responsive and we enjoyed our stay. The following are ways I felt my unit needed improvements. If you have a full kitchen, provided the things you expect. Large bowls for mixing or storing would be a great start. Toaster didn’t work, reported, but nothing happened (it’s Belize and that can take time). The only thing in the cupboard was 2 sets of salt and pepper. I left approximately 145 coffee liners after giving 50 to a neighbor. No oil, no other seasoning. Other VRBO’s I’ve had have an assortment of things others have left. Pass it along kind of thing. Maybe I’m wrong, but I can’t imagine that people don’t leave items to help the next guest.
More written info of rules and explanations. Example what should I do with the garbage, how do I rent a bike. Who is a good contact for a taxi. Appreciated Michael connection on the last one. One thing I found was that the palms close to the cabin I was in, beat against the walls and windows when the wind blew and it does wakes you up at 2 AM.
I say all this as opportunities and would stay again.
Cottage was a little off the beaten path but still was not a bad walk to the hub of activity
Michael was easily available to answer any questions or solve problems
Only thing I would have liked better was better window covering in the bedroom. Other than that great stay
We absolutely loved our stay! Michael was a wonderful host - helping us with a smooth check-in and bike rentals during our stay. The pool was wonderful and location is close enough to town to walk or bike, while far enough that it’s quite at night. We would definitely stay here again for future visits to Caye Caulker!

Great stay for a family of 4
Low Caye cottages were exactly what we needed and lived up to expectations from VRBO. We were greeted at the ferry dock by a driver, even though we had never communicated our exact arrival time. The property manager greeted us at the house. The house was great for the four of us - 2 queen beds, 1 bath, 2 AC units in sleeping areas. Our kids loved the pool and made friends with the kids staying next door. We had four beach towels in addition to bath linens. We didn’t cook much, but the kitchen had just enough cookware to make and serve a small meal. Wi-Fi and cable TV worked great. No phone. Groceries, restaurants and shopping are in walking distance. There are bikes for rent for $10 Belize dollars per day per bike. We only took taxis when we had our luggage with us. We stayed in the purple pearl cottage, which is on the street side, but the location is quiet. There is hot water, but not a lot of it. The property manager was easy to reach, and you’ll want to tell them when you’re leaving so they can arrange transportation and pick up time. We would stay there again.

Ok and basic. Has what you need.
The cottage itself is nice, basic, has everything you need to be comfortable. However... there is ZERO hot water pressure. If you have thick hair good luck washing it! Also, all of the cottages are connected by a common deck. When people are walking around the pool area the whole inside of your cottage shakes. Lastly the location is a little far off from everything, not a huge deal but something to take in to consideration

Very nice property on Caye Caulker
We stayed in one of these four units on Caye Caulker for 5 days. It was very clean, new and well laid out with a functional kitchen, good sized bedrooms and loft, and good storage - and fairly well priced for what you were getting. The air conditioning worked great. The big plus is that the 4 units surround a small but highly adequate swimming pool that was perfect for dipping in and cooling off after a day in the ocean. The management company had a couple of very good people in and around the premises keeping an eye on things. The one issue we experienced that needs to be corrected is that the hot water system was simply not working in all the units, so we went without a hot shower our entire stay. This turned out to be a minor inconvenience as we had the pool available to wash off salt from the ocean and the outside temps were plenty hot, but for the price you are paying they need to fix this issue. Otherwise it's a great spot, a little off the beaten path on the Caye but convenient to the main areas. Highly recommended if you're in the market for a somewhat more upscale rental with kitchen facilities at a reasonable price.

Overall, we loved the Purple Pearl cottage!
The cottage was perfect for our family of four. It was clean, well maintained and the kitchen was appropriately stocked for the little cooking we did. The property manager, Michael, is very helpful and in no way intrusive. While our experience was wonderful, the four cottages on the property are very close together (which the pictures show). We enjoyed meeting the other families staying there as well, but given the proximity of the cabins privacy is limited.

Good spot- clean, poor communication
Worked great for our family of four. Unfortunately like another review we had trouble with communication from the owner. We tried emailing a week in advance for directions and who we should meet when we reached caye caulker but never heard a response. When arriving at caye caulker it took asking many people and locals calling other locals for about an hour to figure out where the house was. Finally we were put in contact with the local manager who said the house was already rented and there was other people staying in it? Michael (the local manager) helped us by putting us into another unit for the night and we moved the following evening. Worked out fine but would be nice to know the place before you arrive. The actual name of the cottages is "Low Caye Cottages " which is not advertised on VRBO.
Enjoyed the house and location. Bikes would be good to rent with kids as the walk isn't too far but gets longer as the week progresses.

Nice and comfortable!
We had a great time in Caye Caulker and the purple cottage was perfect for us. I would definitely recommend it and stay there again. The pictures and description are very accurate and it exceeded our expectations. The only thing to note is that it is a ways from the center of town so you definitely need to rent bikes or a golf cart to enjoy the island.

Cabana - Terrific! Communication - Horrible!
We just loved the property and would encourage anyone to give it serious consideration. What you see in the photos is exactly what you get in person. But...
Communication from the owner was virtually non-existent. We made our reservation a full month in advance of our stay. We then made repeated attempts to learn where and how to check in, upon arrival. We would try to use the VRBO app, but always got the same response: This information has not been provided, we will notify the owner of your interest (or words to that effect). Got nothing in return. The day before our stay began, in desperation we went through the complete listing and keyed in on the photo that does provide an e-mail address. messaged that, and 14 hours before our arrival we heard back from the owner with a referral to the on-site manager, who was extremely helpful. Now, when he reads this the owner will probably say that he had sent responses to our earlier attempts to get information. We did not receive any until the final hours. And, WHY has he not 'loaded' the appropriate information into the VRBO app? Crappy customer service.
So our best advice is to book and enjoy, but when your reservation request is submitted make certain you ask for and receive information for check-in and the local property manager.

Comfortable Cottage Off the Beaten Path
Purple Pearl Cottage was a great little get-away, just minutes from town. (Renting a bike from the office makes getting back and forth even more convenient.) The cottage, itself, was cozy and well-kept, with new appliances, and could easily accomodate four adults. The common pool area was nice, with ample lounge chairs for lying out. I would definitely recommend bringing some bug spray along, though, as the sandflies came out in force after each rain. (That's just part of island life, though.) In addition, the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend the Lower Caye Cottages to anyone staying on Caye Caulker.

cutest little cottage in the area!
we had a great time at our stay on caye caulker in the purple pearl. the cottage was clean and comfortable, air conditioning and fans worked well at nighttime to cool us down. the cottage is set quite away from the main action on front street so we rented a golf cart to get around for the week and, with three small kids, were glad that we did. the cottage does offer bike rentals at a very reasonable cost but that was not an option for us.
the pool is fun and the deck has great lounge chairs--2 per cottage plus some regular chairs. very comfortable.
the kitchen was missing a couple items (namely, high-quality cookware for cooking fresh fish if you buy it in town, kitchen towels, and a set of decent knives), however the house comes with a very friendly manager named michael who can easily be reached by the provided telephone, and if you need something he can get it for you. we did not ask to get new cookware, but i'm fairly certain he could have done it. he did get us a couple of cases of belikin beers at the local's price which was great.
the water pressure in the purple pearl is not very great--but we had a different experience there than my parents who were renting the green cottage across from us. it wasn't a big deal but if a high powered shower is what you're looking for, this is not the place ;)
the house provided drinking water, a safe, a pre-paid cell phone and beach towels, all of which proved quite useful. we had a great time during our stay and were sad to leave the island and our sweet little cottage!
