OCEANFRONT ECO-CHIC HOME WITH INFINITY POOL, DOCK, AIR CONDITIONER & TV

Luxury off-grid experience! Eco-Chic oceanfront property with new upgraded solar system, infinity-edge pool, dock, A/C & Smart TV. The breathtaking setting looks out over the Caribbean Sea with a beautiful dock and roof top sky deck. This is a private, authentic, Caribbean style "home," that is not located within a Townhouse/Condominium-type complex. It is away from it all, in the exclusive South Point residential neighborhood. This is an actual "home" that we happily offer as a true "Vacation Rental By Owner" for others to enjoy. There are large wrap-around Verandas with hammocks and seating, providing some of the most amazing views and breezes you will experience anywhere on the island. There is beautiful, natural Mahogany wood craftsmanship throughout the home. The roof-top sky-deck offers amazing panoramic views of the entire island, Caribbean Sea and the Barrier Reef. It is located at the South Point of Caye Caulker approximately 1.5 miles from the Village where you will find the restaurants, bars, grocery stores and shops. This property offers a truly peaceful tropical island getaway. The seaside path to the home is very scenic and fun for bikes, golf cart rentals and golf cart taxi rides. Two (2) bikes are included with your stay.

Locally guided tours by sea and shore...

Enjoy everything Belize has to offer from Caye Caulker. All your adventures to the mainland are just a short water taxi ride away. Or, choose from our many locally guided tours that will also bring you to the mainland to explore by Sea or Shore. They are absolutely fantastic and will pick you up by boat and drop you off at your private dock for your convenience.

We have an upgraded solar system with new A/C, 42” Smart TV, and remote control ceiling fans, and the wonderful natural sea breezes that make the home quite comfortable. Conservation of water is an important part of "living Green" while you enjoy staying at this home.
Guests are supplied with a 5 gallon water bottle for drinking.
Our property manager will arrange for a golf cart taxi to meet you and transport you to the home where you will be greeted and checked-in. The owners and or 2 guests may be downstairs at times but never more than 2 people. Property is situated so you won’t have to interact. You will have your own separate entrance and gate to the upper villa suite. Pool and dock are the only shared spaces. We’ll respect your privacy but always happy to help with anything you need.

Awesome place in paradise
Such a cool home, we loved our stay. It is far away from the town, not an issue, actually nice for privacy, but good to know. We biked or taxied in daily.

Hammock Bliss
The views are spectacular and the people in Caye Caulker are wonderful. The house managers, Mack & Rebecca were great. Gustavo, the person they generally use & recommend for taxi services was such a nice guy we highly recommend using him as well, you will make a new friend for sure. We enjoyed our daily bike rides into town & had so much fun. If you want a quiet place with amazing views and a hammock this is this place to stay. We didn't meet the owners, but they seem great as well through our e-mail communications. You really can't go wrong staying in such a beautiful friendly place.

Best place on the island
James' place is private, clean, with a great view of the ocean. After biking around the island a few times we definitely felt like this house was ideally situated and exactly where we wanted to be. There were clear instructions to guide our water and electricity use, a wonderful deck where we spent a lot of time reading and hanging out, and a brand new pier with lounge chairs when we felt like being close to the water. The bikes made each of our trips into town quite enjoyable and when we didn't feel like riding it was great to have the local cell phone provided by James, complete with a phone book full of taxi drivers. Thank you James for putting so much care into the house and for sharing it with us!

Quiet, lovely home
We really enjoyed our stay at Casita Bella Vista over the holidays. The house is comfortable with everything you could possibly need. We spent quite a bit of time on the deck and sky deck, enjoying the view and birds. While the snorkeling wasn't ideal at the time of year we were there (very murky and difficult to see much of anything; although we saw a nurse shark on two different occasions, so it was still fun), we still loved the private pier with that kind of access to snorkel at any time we wanted. James was incredibly responsive and once we were in Belize, Liberty was so helpful and accommodating. We received such amazing customer service with our transfer needs as well. As I said, the house is lovely, with every convenience, and we thoroughly enjoyed our vacation. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again for a quiet get away. Monique & Rob

A Wonderful Stay With Fabulous Views
We stayed at this lovely home in February, 2022 for two weeks. There were a few blips in the beginning due to Anna, the housekeeper, being called away to a funeral. We understood that could not be helped but it did make it a little harder to figure out the lay of the land. By the time we had to say goodbye we were in love with the island. The home is lovely and well equipped. The bikes work well but if you want to eat dinner out, you will want to find a taxi that can bring you and the bikes home as the trail through the jungle was very dark at night. The neighbors are very nice and helpful if you have a question. My only tip is if you are susceptible to bug bites (I am but my husband is not), bring plenty of deet. The island has plenty of sand flies.

Beautiful place worth checking it out!
This property was everything we expected and more! The beauty and peacefulness was a gift. Caye Caulker is such a jewel that is not overly commercialized yet. We only met kind happy people. The dogs are even peaceful which is so strange...not one barked or chased our bikes. not one begged for food ,pretty amazing being there are a lot of them! We had a boat pick us up at Dons pier for snorkeling ( what a wonderful neighbor James and Rainy have!) That is the way to do it, talk about convenient! We also connected with a local fisherman (Miguel) he provided us with fresh Lobster, conk and crab legs. I don't know how anyone could not enjoy this adventure, biking was awesome! Gods gifts are very present in this place. Thank you for sharing! Keith ,Geralyn Gunter

Loved it!!!
We really enjoyed this house. It was quaint, cozy and secluded from the main village. The bike ride is indeed a 15 min ride (the walk back is longer and only enjoyable when you've had some cocktails - seriously though just pay for Nick to drive you). The house had all the amenities and reminded us of a nice cottage. We had zero issues with electrical or water and kept the windows and doors open (but locked) all the time. We were fortunate enough to not have any bugs whatsoever which was awesome. The breeze was always warm but as soon as I got a sunburn, man, did we ever want the AC! That said we would totally come back to this little humble abode again. Anwar Tours was great and we enjoyed getting picked up at the dock. The only one complaint that we had was that the pillows smelled and there wasn't any extra sets of bedding or pillows that we could have swapped out. Our solution was to put the pillows in t-shirts which eliminated the issues but other than that, it was lovely!!!

Awesome Home and Island
What an incredible place to relax and unwind. This home was perfect for what we were looking for. Caye Caulker itself is great, but we probably would have not stayed 11 nights if it wasn't for this property. It has some of the best swimming/dock access on the island, and is located in a quiet, semi secluded part of the island. The pictures you see on the profile are true to what the house is. No false advertising here. The work and love that the owners have put into the house is very evident. The amenities are perfect. Everything worked well, and we did our best to conserve water and propane during the stay. The wrap around deck was really our favorite part of the house, with many hours spent in the hammocks taking in the view. There was always a nice breeze blowing through the house so it was never too hot. The snorkeling off the dock was fun, and our favorite part of every day was sitting on the dock and watching locals fish off nearby as the sun came down. We used the bikes that the owners have for your use every day, multiple times a day. We would have loved to have a kayak to paddle around in, but that was a minor thought. We kept saying to ourselves, "This has to be the best house on Caye Caulker."

Laid Back Caye Caulker
The reviews below accurately describe Casa Bella Vida. The upper apartment was plenty spacious for the two of us, very clean, and the kitchen was adequately stocked with dishes, pans, etc., although not much in the way of spices or condiments. Mack and Rebecca provided a helpful orientation and promptly answered our questions. James and Rainy were in the lower apartment but we rarely heard a peep from them. Riding to and from town on the bikes was tricky at first but fine once we learned how to maneuver. The trail is a bit treacherous, especially at night, but two headlamps are now available for use. There was no kayak available during our stay, as noted by a previous reviewer. Being off the grid was no issue for us. We conserved as much as possible and there was plenty of hot water. Wi-fi worked fine throughout our stay. The views from the wrap-around deck were great and James has just completed a rooftop viewing platform, which was perfect for watching sunsets and moonrises. The dock is a bit rickety and the water was murky during our visit so we didn't swim there. A word of caution for those of you who, like me, who are bug magnets: In spite of plentiful breezes and being cautious about not going out too early in the mornings or too late in the evenings, the Belizean sand flies at the south end where CBV is located made a feast out of me! Next time I will skip the natural oils, the bug coils, the citronella incense sticks, the bug bracelets, etc., and go straight for Deet.

I’ve been going through VRBO for over 15 years. I am going to give a review that is not positive, and the owner is going to respond, and I can’t refute what he/she has to say (no avenue on VRBO) so, you can trust this review, or not. This is my first partially negative, but honest review. The house on Caye Caulker is lovely, comfortable, well equipped, and has an absolutely amazing view! However, their representation of this property is not accurate or honest, which is not acceptable if you are traveling to another country for the first time. Let’s start with: #1 “The seaside path to the home is very scenic and fun for bikeriding….” NOT!! This is a mile and a half of pot-holed barely-one-lane dirt road through a very “stinky” swamp, with NO “scenery”. So, you will require golf-taxi service to and from property ($5 US/person one way, so as a couple it’s $20 US for transportation each day, roundtrip). #2 “Eco-Friendly', solar powered waterfront property”. We ran out of power EVERY day even though we were gone on excursions and off the property every day till about 7 PM. BYW, that means all fans, lights, refrigerator,, charging for cell phones, laptops, etc. and the only power was ONE flashlight in the livingroom. They don’t even provide battery charged lanterns! One flashlight! Here is the response from the owner, after two requests for help: "Hello James, Don't know where you live or your time zone, but at 10 PM Belize all power went out in the house. So, I'm using my phone as a person hotspot to let you know this. I called Ana to see if there are backup lanterns and batteries anywhere, but she said no. I've looked around and have not even found candles. Hmmm, not so good. So, there is one flashlight in your house, and we have our phones, until they run down. Hopefully, power will magically come on, as it does when you're on the grid, but that seems pretty far-fetched. We will keep frig closed, so hopefully nothing will spoil. I look forward to hearing from you. In the dark, Jean & Toby & some new couple downstairs that I have not yet met" “Good evening Jean, I spoke with Ana and our solar technician is still on schedule to come check out the situation. And, yes, Miss Ana did mention that she spoke with you last week about the importance of not leaving fans and/or lights on when you leave the house. Let’s touch base again tomorrow. Thank you. Kindly yours, James". James is the owner who lives somewhere in the the US northeast, as

The house is about a 20 minute nice walk from town. Because it is situated on the southern tip of the island, sargassum was not a problem. There is no snorkeling off the dock - the water is shallow and dirty for at least 200 metres - but catching snapper off the dock is pretty easy. We went into town every day and swam at the split, ate really good food (Steve’s tiny restaurant made the best fish).

Quiet, clean, and relaxing
We enjoyed five days in July for our anniversary at this beautiful home. Taxi service was arranged from the airport to the water taxi (Ronny) and from the water taxi to the house (Jubalos), which made things very easy in a new country. The house was very clean and well-maintained and had everything we needed. The house manager, Ana, greeted us and provided a local cell phone that we used to call snorkeling shops (Three Seas, Caveman, and Anwar). We biked to and from town every day. The trails are very bumpy but the ride is worth it to be on the quiet side of the island. The rooftop deck was our favorite part and we spent much of our vacation there enjoying sunrises and sunsets and stargazing. The host was very quick with responses before, during, and after our trip. Highly recommended!

Private, on the water, beautiful
My wife and I enjoyed the beauty of this get away. Not only was there a beautiful living space, but there was a sitting area on the roof to watch the stars at night, or the sunrise and sunset, and just across the path, a private dock. we had a wonderful time!

Beautiful view, beautiful place
We really enjoyed our week in Belize and our stay with James and Rainy. The house is just as the photos suggest...well-maintained with a fantastic view. Caye Caulker is amazing. We easily walked to the Split, local restaurants and shops. The golf cart taxi service is great. Eco-Chic really is the best way to describe the house. A couple points...we did need a second supply of drinking water. Not a big deal and James took care of that immediately. No long showers and no paper in the commode (would not have changed our minds but I think it helps to know that up front). If you are prone to bug bites, the sand fleas will definitely leave their mark. I used bug spray every day and still got nailed....my husband never got a single bite. We wanted a laid back vacay in a warm, beautiful location and that's exactly what we got. We will definitely be back!

Property was good, but very remote. Needed a microwave.
My overall impression is biased. It rained, and a lot at times, every day for the entire week. Kinda killed my desire to do all the tours and activities I had planned. Humidity was stifling. Made me tired and lethargic. Because of the rain, renting a golf cart was essential. Riding a bike on flooded dirt roads is not fun. Did not want to travel the jungle dirt road to house after dark (5:30). Wished I had of stayed in town, would have gone out more. Should have done more research. Can’t control the weather. Live and learn.

Just breathtaking views....
We fell in love with this house! For good reason...it was like having first row seats to Paradise. It is located at the most Southern part of the Island and directly on the water. The house is lovely and well equipped for everything, towels, kitchen, bedding...it has it all. Although I must be honest the huge wraparound porch was basically our home for the week! We only went inside to sleep. The house is luxury off-grid living with solar power and a rain water collection system. The Wi-Fi worked great, so we were able to use all our electronics. They included two bicycles, a kayak and snorkel gear for our use, which was great as well. The house is a bicycle ride from the village, so it has seclusion yet total accessibility. The neighbors are mostly from the States that have either retired there or spend part of the year there. It is a very pleasant community. The only tip that I have if you have never been to Belize is bring bug spray with you!!! the serious kind...OFF Deep Woods...as the path to the house does run through the brush and that can be filled with mosquitos depending on the wind or conditions. Bring several cans, it's worth it to not have to buy on the Island where it is liquid gold and goes for $15-$18 US dollars a can...and on that note, pack your own sunscreen too, it is quite pricey for the amount you will go through. Once you get to the house and on the porch the mosquitos are not a problem and the house is very well screened so they do not get in there at all.

Just Breathtaking views.....
We totally fell in love with this house. It was everything it was described to be, but I don't think anyone could do the description of the views justice. The house was well equipped with towels, kitchen, bedding etc. They also provided bicycles, kayak and snorkel gear! The large porch was where we basically lived for the week whenever we were not out and about the village or on a tour. The community of South Point is mostly retired people from the States or those who spend a few months there, they are very warm and welcoming and helpful. This house is luxury off-grid living, with solar power and rain water systems. The Wi-Fi works great, so we were able to use all our electronics. Nothing slowed us down! A tip for those who have never been to Belize, bring bug spray...and I am talking the serious kind. OFF Deep Woods. The mosquitos can be very unpredictable, on windy days you may get nothing, on warm still days they can be rough...either way, they are only bad on the ride to and from the village because the path takes you through the brush/swamp where they breed. My point is, bug spray on the Island is liquid gold, can cost $15-$18 US dollars a can, so it is definitely worth packing a few cans...bring your sunscreen as well! That can be pricey as well and you will need it!

HANDS DOWN THE BEST ON CAYE CAULKER
Hurry and book your dates before someone else gets them!!! Casita Bella Vida is everything you're hoping for. Beautiful interior with hardwood floors and full kitchen. The main attraction for us, though, was the outer deck. The views are exactly as advertised. You will spend many happy hours in the hammocks just vegging. Head down to the dock for a refreshing dip during the day or to watch the gorgeous sunsets in the evening. The dock is one of the best places on the island for a swim. Your charming hosts, James and Rainey live downstairs and are always happy to help with whatever you need. (Don't miss the Friday Night Jam at the sports bar-Rainey is an awesome drummer!) A few (very!) minor cons: Hot water is extremely limited. There's a sign in the bathroom advising short showers. Trust it! Also we would have like a "floaty toy" or two to lay on in the water. (James? Rainey?) Overall, though, the house and location are easily the best on the island. Enjoy!!! (Just a note if you're still undecided...Choose Caulker over Ambergris! We stopped there and it was dirty and touristy. Would have been terribly disappointed if we had stayed there.)

Super-chill getaway
We really enjoyed our stay at Casita Bella Vida! We stayed in the upper level of the house which had a beautiful wrap around deck allowing us to find shade at all times of the day. The ocean view was gorgeous. We enjoyed the location of the house, which was away from the hustle and bustle of the town, but close enough to bike to each day. James and Rainy had helpful tips on where to eat and things to do. We really enjoyed the kayaking and paddle boarding and we saw lots of sea life, including a dolphin, an eagle ray, and sting rays. We had a great time!

Perfect location
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at James & Rainy’s Casita Bella Vida on Caye Caulker. There is an incredible view from the wrap around deck and the top floor cabana has everything you could need. The bed was comfortable, it’s a really big space for 2 people, and the wood used inside the cabana is beautiful! We didn’t realize when booking that James & Rainy live part of the year on the lower floor – but that didn’t matter. If anything, it was a plus given we had the opportunity to talk with them a number of times. They were extremely nice, and had great tips & perspective on the area. We were disappointed we had missed Rainy playing drums at the local sports bar which she apparently does with a group nearly every Friday night! There were only a couple of small things that we would have changed. First, the price was rather high in our opinion. Although it was absolutely worth being at this property, we felt the price was higher than we would typically pay for such a spot. Second, we love kayaking & would have probably done it a lot more. However, the inflatable kayak is really uncomfortable to sit in for any length of time. And lastly, we would have loved some beach type lounge chairs to sit in up on the deck and to take to the dock. While the dock is public, it’s the best spot to be in the sun in the area & it’s just not very comfortable sitting on the uneven dock boards or in the straight back dining type chairs on the deck. That being said, those are all quite minor & we were very happy we chose this property on the south end of the island. It is quiet, peaceful and lovely. We looked forward to the 1-2mi bikeride (with the included bikes – each with a basket), depending on where you were going in town. We brought headlamps for biking & didn’t always need them given the moon was close to full. It was so fun to take the beach / jungle path to and from town each day. We biked most of the island & decided we had chosen the ideal spot on this great caye.
