"We absolutely loved this hotel. It's an easy pleasant walk along the lake from the station. The reception staff are multilingual and are very helpful. We chose a studio room with lake view. It was super comfortable with an amazing view of the lake. There are lots of restaurants in Locarno but we decided to include breakfast and evening meal at the time of booking. Breakfast is buffet style and offers a super range of excellent quality foods. Supper was waiter service; sometimes it's à la carte, other times an abridged menu. But regardless every dish was excellent! You will not be disappointed. The head waiter is marvellous and made each evening an enjoyable experience, he was pleased to explain the dishes to us and I noticed him doing so in several languages. His team are professional and friendly; they simply make you feel welcome, comfortable and relaxed. The garden setting for the restaurant is lovely with the lake visible through the trees and shrubs. The hotel is spacious and kept immaculately clean. There is a pool, small but perfect for a cooling dip. We didn't use the gym. It was far too warm to use the roof terrace, the view up there is fabulous. We flew in via Milan, transferred by bus to the central station and caught the train direct to Locarno. An Italian woman on our flight said Locarno is the most beautiful part of Majjiore. I can't compare but I think she may be right! If you go, we can definitely recommend the Arcadia Hotel. Isola Brissago is a must see."

"The staff were friendly, and it was very central. This is 3 star so some of the amenities were a bit basic (uncomfortable bed but good pillows). Things that could have helped were chairs for the balcony, stronger overhead light bulb in the main room, toaster at breakfast). Convenient for one night."

"Absolutely one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in. The owners are super friendly and so kind and attentive. The food was amazing and home cooked … delicious.. happily catered for my food intolerances , which was wonderful. Great breakfast too. Location … wow … gorgeous, with the added benefit of seeing the Glacier Express pass by ! Fully recommend this hotel . "

"Loved the room and setting, but the mattress was quite hard and was not aware I would be on the third floor after climbing several flights of garden stairs. My suitcase was quite large, I was offered help so it was no problem. It just would have been nice to know!"

"Lovely room with TWO balconies, view over lake. Easy stroll from station (7-8 minutes, with luggage), immediate access to all- old town, restaurants, funicular to Madonna del Sasso etc, ferries for lake trips,. Staff totally helpful and engaging. Great stay for three nights before stunning train trip to Domodossola ."

"I took s last minute trip to Ascona and had wonderful luck booking a room overlooking the lake. The room was comfortable, had a petite balcony with a table and two chairs, and the bath was modern. The staff were AMAZING and Friendly. The food was delightful. Bteakfast was a typical European buffet, and eggs and bacon could be made to request. I will definitely return to this lovely hotel. "
