"Het hotel oogt misschien wat gedateerd, maar vriendelijk, aardig personeel. Goede service. Uitstekend diner van een kleine kaart. Schone, ruime kamers met aparte zitgelegenheid op iedere verdieping met koffie en thee en lees- en spelmateriaal. Lekker terras in de zon 's middags. "Eigentlich bin ich immer mehr als zufrieden im Hotel Schieferhof. Wann immer ich in der Nähe bin, übernachte ich hier. Aber dieses Mal war an Nachtruhe nicht zu denken. Die Zimmer zur Straße raus sind einfach zu laut. Die Fenster schlucken zwar den Schall, aber dann ist es zu stickig im Zimmer (wenn man - wie ich - Frischluftfanatiker ist. "Wir wurden herzlich begrüßt und haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Die Zimmer sind gemütlich, das Bad modern und alles sehr sauber. Leider keinen richtigen Fuchs getroffen. Das Frühstück ist sehr lecker. Man kann im Restaurant sehr gut essen abends."

"We only had one night here, would have liked to stay more. The hotel has its own restaurant for lunch and dinner in a separate building a minutes walk from rhe accommodation. Really good local food. Our room was quite a bit larger than expected and spotless. No hesitation in recommending this as a very good place to stay."

Generally excellent, but.....

"The hotel was located in an area with good transport links. I found occasionally it was difficult in my chair with static electricity. I would suggest maybe a couple of handrails in the bathroom to make it a little more accessible, and a bath with a shower is not helpful for someone who has to use a Powerchair. It's also a bit tricky to leave the room in your chair at times. There was much to enjoy about the room, but it could have been tailored a little more towards my needs. I had written to the hotel about a couple of issues, butdid not get replies. The restaurant staff were always kind and helpful. The wifi was occasionally a bit hit or miss. "

Schloss Weissenburg - misleading pictures

"I chose this hotel due to its idyllic look & since I was traveling with 4 colleagues, they all booked here too. On arrival, found out you don’t stay in the schloss, rather a very unattractive side building, freezing cold, tiny room. The restaurant was closed, another reason I had chosen this hotel was because it had a restaurant, nobody told us it would be closed. Very poor. The service was friendly at breakfast & that’s my reason for ranking this at okay. The lady was lovely & made our start to each day a pleasant one ."

"Friendly, helpful staff, comfortable lodging in a central location. Small water bottle in room at arrival would have been nice, but local mints in bathroom and Christmas chocolate on pillow were very thoughtful. Would also have liked to see homemade jam instead of high glucose factory stuff as an extra touch at breakfast. Blackout curtains worked and bathroom was modern and spacious. Would definitely stay again. "

"Great hotel for a great price. Clean, modern, well equipped. Quadruple room was great for us and our two kids. Would love to have parking better marked as well as signs at the back entrance. We arrived after dark and it was a bit uncomfortable driving around back of the building, but once we found our way it was just fine. Would certainly stay here again!"
