"We booked this hotel following positive feedback from friends. I can safely say this was one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. From the warm hospitality of the staff, to the cleanliness of the room, the exquisite food, and the range of facilities at our leisure, it was just incredible. The spa and its heated outdoor pool was a particular highlight. It was a simply phenomenal experience. Not cheap by any stretch of the imagination, but worth every single penny. "

We had breakfast on two mornings, again food was very good. Two small criticisms from our stay was that the bed/mattress was very firm but this is about personal taste so may be fine for others! We spoke to reception and while they couldn’t offer a different room they did provide a mattress topper which resolved the issue and we were happy with...

"Delightful quirky accommodation; staff very friendly, lounge very homely with lovely log burner and plenty of glasses to enjoy your own drinks, snacks or takeaway food etc. Large communal tables which gives lots of opportunity to meet and socialise with other guests. Although our room wasn’t large it had everything we needed and was full of character. Alnwick has lots to see and do and lovely restaurants."
