Clean and comfortable on a beautiful property
The Lodges are immaculate and the property is beautiful. The furnishings are a little institutional but overall we had a very pleasant stay.

Beautiful spot to explore Cork
Castlemartyr is a beautiful resort with a couple of lovely walks in the woods as well as a championship golf course. The Holiday Lodges are an ideal way to explore the area. They are roomy with beautiful space outside surrounded by the walls of the old walled garden. Your dogs will love it also. Anna was a great host. thanks.

A very spacious house
The house is very spacious and bright due to big windows. And it is in a very quiet surrounding. We hardly heard anything from the neighbouring houses. The house manager was also very friendly and helpful for all our questions.

Nice place needing a bit of tlc
Pet friendly with nice open plan living space, spacious bedrooms and good WiFi. Most mod cons provided. Situated in nice area and close to towns line Midleton and Youghal where there is a nice beach. House needs a bit of tlc, ground floor toilet leaking, unstable curtain pole in bedroom and lack of blind or curtain on one window which would affect light sleepers. Coffee pods were provided, but no coffee machine to use them. Places needed a good dusting, especially bedrooms, alot of cobwebs and spiders visible, outside could be powerwashed or cleaned down to improve general appearance and first impression too.

Great location , quiet and very dog friendly. However we felt the furnishings were quite Spartan and not homely . There was a shortage of cutlery and crockery - supplying only 4 knives and forks for instance is not adequate for 4 adults self catering . There were no mattress covers on the beds and the mattresses were stained . There was evidence with stains on the ceiling of on going problems with leakage from the shower . Overall we were disappointed with the quality of the property which was a shame as with more care and adequate maintenance this could be a 5 star holiday let .

Property was beautiful. Very clean. Comfortable. It would be great if there were basic conveniences in the house like hand soap, washing up liquid, a little milk etc.

Horrible experience
The property was fine, but communication with the owner was a nightmare. I repeatedly asked for directions, and was repeatedly denied. The owner refused to give any info other than to contact the manager, and the manager's phone had horrible reception. They relied exclusively in the EIRCode and using Google maps to find the location, but cell reception did not work in the area and our phone rebooted and we lost directions. We literally drove around for over an hour looking for the home, calling the agent over and over with no connection with her, and just lucked into finding the space. This after an overnight flight from the US and driving hours from Dublin. All this would have been avoided if they had just provided directions, which they adamantly refused to do.

Comfortable place to stay, be aware that there is nothing in the townhouse to clean with and nothing other that toilet paper and linens. Not even salt and pepper! Otherwise, no issues and we enjoyed our stay.

Wonderful stay at Castlemartyr lodges
The location, the surroundings and the lodge itself were absolutely remarkable. The lodges are bright with lot of space and it has all that you need to spend a relaxing holiday (as well as a powerful wifi). It is in a secluded and quiet area but still within walking distance from pubs and groceries. There's also a lot of things to do for families within few km (zoo, pet farm, beach...). The manager on site is very nice to talk with. We will book again for sure in the future.

Castlemartyr August 2019
Very modern lodge with two large bedrooms. Great location half an hour from Cork city. Safe area for children. Loved the welcome items - bread, butter, milk and especially the Tassimo capsules of coffee for the filter coffee machine. Andy the manager was very helpful and accommodating House decor is a little tired. Ground floor windows appeared not to have been cleaned for some time.

Very relaxing week for 2 adults and 2 teens
The house was great - comfortable and with plenty of room for 2 parents and 2 teens to keep out of each other's way when necessary. The fresh milk and bread on arrival was a very nice touch and much appreciated. The surrounding estate and woods are really nice and the proximity to the town is very convenient. Thicker toilet paper would be nice. Also, soap and a towel in the downstairs toilet would be good.
