The ancient former Lochpatrick Mill is assured to give you a unique and memorable holiday with the conversion having been completed with great care to preserve the Mill's unique character. It is well-equipped, very spacious but cosy, book-lined and comfortably furnished with full central heating and two wood stoves. The house makes an ideal holiday base either for exploring the rich history and hills of the surrounding area or for quiet relaxation in the peaceful gardens. While in a very private and secluded location it is only ten minutes' drive from the bustling market town of Castle Douglas and within easy reach of the wonderful Solway Coast with quiet secluded beaches and awe inspiring cliff walks.
Surrounding the house are large attractive, well-maintained gardens which can be enjoyed from one of the two burnside patios. The gardens are shared with The Miller's House and include a small bowling green and tennis court, both available for use by holidaymakers. In addition, there is free, rough perch and pike fishing for house guests on two small lochs a pleasant five and ten minute walk away respectively. The house stands in its own spacious grounds with tennis court and bowls lawn.
Served by a quiet country road, ideal for walking or cycling, the house is only a few minutes' drive from the A75 Stranraer to Carlisle trunk road. The villages of Springholm and Crocketford, both with pubs serving meals and a village shop, are within a five minute drive. Castle Douglas, the Food Town, provides excellent shopping, with a number of hotels, pubs and restaurants. The Solway coast, with its wonderful scenery and extensive sandy beaches, is within a half hour's drive and there are a number of excellent, and in some cases testing, golf courses all within easy access, including the championship links course at Southerness.

In the annexe (which is in a separate building) there is one double bedroom with ensuite bathroom.

First class, wonderful property and location
This is a fantastic property nestled a few miles inland from the Scottish Riviera. The property was tastefully converted in the 70s but is equipped with everything you might need. It worked perfectly for our teenagers who had space if their own to kick back, but also offered a great family space on the ground floor for us all to be together. Sitting on the window sill listening to the babbling brook was nothing short of enchanting. Two practical points to clarify: The sofa bed in the library is very high quality and very comfortable. Think of it as a normal bed. Secondly, the space will work perfectly for groups of two or three families when renting the adjacent Miller's House. The Mill's lounge and dining areas are ample for this size party.
