"Honestly, our family had our best vacation yet at Cindy's cottage on Weir Cove. We loaded up on groceries at Hannaford in Blue Hill (30ish minutes away) and spent nearly 5 days resting, sea kayaking, catching crabs, roasting marshmallows, reading and playing cribbage. We'd love to go back to this little piece of New England paradise! "

"The property owners were great from the start. We arrived late, after 10pm, on the day of check-in, and Paul worked with us to get us into the cottage. When we first walked in we felt immediately comfortable and at home. The cottage was spotless and well appointed. It had everything we needed. The kitchen especially was well equipped. The grocery store was close by in Blue Hill so that we could stock up on food for our stay. The rooms were perfect for our three kids, and we slept so well on the master bedroom bed! Castine itself is a gem! We ate lunch at the town dock and took a tour of the Penobscot Bay on Lil' Toot and got to see seals, osprey, cormorants, and eagles. Lil' Toot's skipper is very knowledgeable and a great guide! Everyone in town was so nice! We went to the Compass Rose at least two times! Backshore Beach ended up being a favorite for our family to find all kinds of treasures as we walked the shore. We enjoyed the Wilson Museum collection and the hands on activities they had for the kids. Castine is a little over an hour from Acadia National Park depending on the time of day, and we were able to go there and drive the park loop enjoying Cadillac Mountain, Thunder Hole, and Jordan Pond. We also went to The Great Main Lumberjack Show with Timber Tina and had a blast! This was our first trip to Maine and we fell in love with Castine. We can't wait to return and see more! We would love to stay at the Honeymoon Cottage again!"

"The beds were a joke and the spaces were dirty (mouse poop and birdseed on top of the refrigerator). The living room furniture is worn and uncomfortable. I would not recommend this property."

"Peregrine House is situated on a quiet road in a peaceful location with a lovely view of the bay and gorgeous sunsets. There is easy access to the town of Castine and the house is a short walk to the beach where we enjoyed swimming. The house was well-equipped. The beds and living area were comfortable. Mary Lou was responsive to our questions and needs. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay."

"It truly is a "tiny house". I thought it would be fun to experience a tiny house. But we are 80 and 81 years old and we have sleep difficulties. It is much more suitable for much younger people. We were impressed at how well it was stocked with anything we needed. The outdoor space had a table, umbrella, and chairs. We enjoyed our morning coffee & muffin breakfast there. In the corner of the privacy fence were two Adirondacks, and I got sunnapping in one of them. We love the beautiful town of Castine! We were also very thankful for the air conditioner as it was much warmer than we had hoped. Many rentals do NOT have air-conditioning in Maine!"
