"For two weeks we enjoyed a little piece of Tuscan heaven amongst the peaceful olive groves in the hills outside of Lucca, while discovering the history (and restaurants!) of the city of Lucca itself, along with day trips around the area including Lido di Camaiore along the coast, Pisa, and Firenze, historic villas and local wineries. The home itself is beautifully restored and authentically appointed, and we ended each day with wine on the covered terrace overlooking an amazing vista. Our host Massimo was most kind, gracious, and helpful and we very much enjoyed getting to know him. As other reviewers have noted, the approach to the home up and down the winding hills (and up and down the terraced steps between the house and parking) are not without their challenges, but it became easier each day."

"Very clean, comfortable beds, beautiful-comfortable bedroom and bathroom. The restaurant is great! white tablecloths and impeccable setting in the dining room. Breakfast had good variety of meats and cheeses, fruits, croissants and pastries. All in addition to the traditional cereal, yogurt etc. You order the type of coffee you want, and they bring it to your table. Not self-service-machines. If felt pretty good. One night we ordered an Aperol-Spritz drink. It was good, but it cost 10 euro. In good restaurants they cost an average of 6 euros. I didn't like that The hotel staff was very friendly. Fabio was helpful with directions and suggestions about the city. Pretty hotel in a nice neighborhood near the wall. Access to the "old city" was convenient. "

"Thai was a great property, lovely location with easy access to the rail network. We had a beautiful double balcony corner room with marble tiles, amble storage and wardrobe space. Tea and coffee facilities and a mini bar that wasn’t overly expensive at all. 14 minute walk to the train station with easy access to regional and high speed trains. Situated just over the main road to many restaurants, shops and of course the beach. Breakfast was lovely with a good selection every morning. Staff were very friendly. Sadly, we couldn’t eat in the hotel despite two nights of poor weather. The restaurant was closed, even to hotel guests for an American holiday tour (also staying in the hotel). We thought this was really disappointing and we had to walk out in the rain to eat. This was the only thing that let this hotel down. "

"Fantastic 5* place. Excellent facilities for families with young kids. Super friendly and accommodating staff. Extremely clean rooms and facilities. Beautiful grounds. Restaurant food is great and accommodating for dietary requirements. Only downside is that the beach is basically inaccessible, you can’t even see it. There are loads of private beach clubs blocking it from public access."

"We enjoyed our stay at Albergo Celide. The staff was friendly and a great help in setting us up with bikes that we were able to use for the full day to ride around the city. We were grateful to be able to check in at the last minute after having to leave a awful hotel that we were originally booked in by Travelodeals."
