Populonia is tiny and although very atmospheric, you do need to drive for about half an hour to get anywhere else (shops, beach etc). "The owner family and staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The restaurant service and food were excellent. Parking was free. The location is wonderful on the ecean and quiet. Short trips to Pisa, Florence and Volterra. This is our third time stayng there, we liked it so much."
