Tucked away in the pines near the shores of Lake Cascade, this secluded home is perfect for your next Valley County retreat. Follow the half-mile path to enjoy private access to a small lake beach, or recline on the expansive deck and admire the surrounding woods. Each evening, you can grill your summertime favorites, sit down for a game of poker with the adults, and leave the kids to play a little foosball in the game room.

The lake is only half a mile away, and offers a private beach for fun days of swimming, kayaking, and stand-up paddleboarding. For a little more water-based fun, Kelly's Whitewater Park is just four miles away, offering world-class fishing, kayaking, tubing, rafting, and river surfing.

SHOULD BE DEEMED A HEALTH HAZARD
This property was the dirtiest home we have ever stayed in. The kitchen had crumbs all over the floors upon check-in and as soon as we started bringing food out there were ants all over. Every dish we pulled out of the cabinets had food leftover on them. The bottom level of the home should be considered a health hazard due to the poor sanitary conditions; as soon as you head downstairs you are hit with the overwhelming stench of urine that covers the entire downstairs. There is 1 bedroom and an additional bed that we did not want to risk using because the stench covered the beds. There were pillows with blood on them and balls of hair in almost every corner. The main level of the home also had sanitary issues, the floors were covered in hair and there is a couch near the kitchen that was so stained with dark spots we didn't dare sit on it. We moved this couch to cover the stairway to the bottom floor and there was hair, trash, crumbs, and kitchen utensils underneath which was disgusting. The stairway railings are spaced so far apart that my 2 year old walked right through one and fell about 6 feet; there is no way these railings are up to code and this is something we have asked to be looked into. She suffered a large bump on the back of her head and we were terrified the rest of the weekend that she would fall again considering the top floor also had these large gaping holes in the rails. I have contacted the property management company and they have not made things right.

Cozy woodland retreat
Great cabin for a large family with children and dogs! Loved the quiet area nestled in the woods. Huge deck. Plenty of space (and hot water) for all of us (12). Well stocked kitchen. Loved the huge secluded beach. Short walk (~0.2 mi) through the woods. Our kiddos aged 18 mo to 7 years had no trouble walking to it. Saw bald eagles every day. Bonus - The path to the beach crosses the Crown Point trail, which we loved walking our dogs on each day. One concern - If you have small kiddos, be aware the rails on the railing are wide enough to walk through. We blocked the railing with coolers and had no issues. Would definitely stay here again!

Only one bedroom had space( drawers and closet) to unpack our suitcases. Also could use a new cleaning team. Really needs a complete deep clean.

Crown Point Hideaway
Awesome location for Cascade, Donnelly, Tamarack, McCall! The property is very quiet and secluded. Great views and access to the Lake. The open loft bathroom may surprise some guests. Just don't count that bathroom in the room mix. We never could get the TV to work with dish, cable, internet, etc. Didn't matter. We were outside and outdoors sunup to sundown. Kitchen stove is propane; only appliance in the house on propane. Plenty of gas provided for our stay. Definitely would book another stay here if back in the area.

Poor reviews are accurate.
I'm not one to put stock in someone's poor review, there are a lot of whiners out there. But I should have. The locations is awesome and the front of the house looks great. As soon as you cross the front door it's down hill. The smell of urine down stairs fills the house. Pet stains everywhere. The outside handrail and upper deck should be red tagged. The upstairs bed and bath was of no use to our group as you can see a person sitting on the crapper. No one wants to see that! Town was great and the people super friendly. We will be looking forwards to spending more time in Cascade just not that rental.

Family getaway
The location was great. Carpet is heavily stained and upstairs deck is in need of repair but otherwise it was very clean. We appreciate that it was dog friendly. The kitchen area is great for hanging out with the family. Air conditioning would have been nice.

Nothing in add is as it appears
On the bright side the beach is 200 yards away, not a half mile as advertised. The bad part is the place really looks chopped up and needs a real deep clean. We Literally killed spiders in all the beds. Deck is in need of being demolished and the hammock in the photo must have been 10 years ago because it's not there. Very disappointed the host didn't respond to any questions in a week. At least the stove and small tabletop grill didn't run out of propane. Oh wait the stove did run out while baking.. This is really a 3 bedroom house with a toilet and bed in the loft and a bed in entry way of downstairs deck. I never leave reviews but in this case of over priced false advertising I had to. this property would have been good for a bachelor party and thats about it.

Lake House
This house was absolutely filthy. Bugs, spiders. Dirty and dirty. Also, the railing on the stairs is NOT code. very dangerous! Pillows were blood stained and brown and I could go on but I think you get my drift. Also, the wifi information is wrong. You do not need to go back to town, which we did, waste of time. Get this cleaned up and up to code before a child is killed or is seriously injured due to the railings. Your deck needs attention as well.

Overall our experience was great! There was plenty of room for all of us, 7 adults and a 4 year old. Lots of space for our celebrations. Loved being able to get to the lake with just a little hike. Beautiful scenery.

Worst VRBO Stay
The positives: The kitchen was stocked with cookware and appliances. Everything was working fine, and there is even a new frig. The kitchen and bathrooms were clean. One really nice sectional couch in the t.v. room. Quick lake access Good location Plenty of space The Negatives: The kitchen was deficient of basics like sugar, flour, oil, salt/pepper. This is typical, so I come prepared. The store is close so it wasn't a huge issue. No laundry soap. Once again, easy to overcome. ALL the beds are worn, old, and terribly uncomfortable. I tossed and turned each night to get comfortable in the concave mattress. All the mattresses appeared to have similar qualities. The bedding and towels were dingy, smelly and stained! The towels smelled not so fresh, and needed a good soaking in some bleach! The comforters had stains and soiled spots on them (multiple beds). The sheets appeared to be clean. The rugs, couches, and pillows have seen better days!! Two couches were not clean and pillows were downright dirty. Throw carpets were dirty, stained, and needed to be cleaned with carpet cleaner or better yet- tossed!! Bathroom rug was literally falling apart. Some guy showed up to "fix the t.v" without anyone letting us know. This was startling, as it is an isolated location and there is no cell reception or telephone. A land line would be nice at this location for emergencies! Family pictures need to go!! Way too many pictures. It was a little creepy!! They go wall to wall in the basement. I don't usually do reviews, but this property was a real letdown!

Relaxing family getaway
This property was beautiful, relaxing, cozy and plenty of room for family. One thing that could be improved is, plexiglass around the rails of the lower staircase. The openings were large enough for a toddler to fall through. We had to barricade it all off. All in all it's a great property and we thoroughly enjoyed it!🥰
