It was quiet and relaxing and the staff were very helpful. The food was excellent and plentiful. We would highly recommend a stay in this lovely place!"

"We absolutely loved our stay at Quinta da Marka! It was beautiful and on such a picturesque spot along the river. It was so relaxing and a restful spot for our honeymoon. The train station is nearby to get to other cities if you wanted to, otherwise it is quite isolated in this area. Walking over to Quinta do Crasto for a wine tasting & tour was a highlight of the area too! The Quinta offered breakfast, lunch, and dinner which was very convenient. Angela was so helpful in getting us checked in...

"Quinta da Barroca is an excellent place for a relaxed family time in Douro or for an event. It lacks some maintenance or improvement in some things (such as the children's park and the sauna/jacuzzi), but the houses and the scenery are great. Breakfast could have some more variety, but it's good enough, the fruit is excellent, apples right from the tree "

"Absolutely lovely setting! The room was a nice size and had a lovely outdoor sitting area overlooking the river. The breakfast was very good and the restaurant was attractive. There were however, some things that could be improved. First, the walk to our room was somewhat strenuous with luggage in tow. This would not have been so bad if the staff member walking us to our room slowed down a bit when we started huffing and puffing to keep up. Next, there are not coffee makers in the rooms, just...

"Staying here was restful, and very peaceful. Perfect! We enjoyed the privacy of the location. The generous breakfast, and attention to details. It is centrally located to the area sights we wanted to see. It was lovely to have the vineyards to walk through, beautiful views of the river Douro. Definitely recommended!"
