Penthouse Apartment, splendid views over farmland, regular visits from the shepherd with his sheep, goats and dogs. Faces south to make the most of the Spanish sunshine. This area boasts 315 sunny days a year. To me a sea view is from the balcony where you mainly sit or the lounge, so to me I wouldn't advertise a sea view but you can see the sea from the roof terrace and from the kitchen window through the apartments. 3 twin bedrooms so suitable for families, friends and golfers. English TV, DVD Player, free 300 wi-fi. Fully equipped kitchen, lounge with direct access to balcony for easy outdoor dining. Beautiful sunsets. Further private large roof solarium with brick built bbq for more outdoor dining or soaking up the sun, four sun loungers, chairs and coffee table, for relaxing and enjoying the view. Full air conditioning. Apartment all on one level. There is a communal pool area with a smaller pool for children. The sandy beach great for children only 10 minutes walk away, shallow and warmer than the Med, with beach bars, one with internet access, Italian restaurant, marina and tennis club. Sailing, kayaking, pedalos in peak season. A supermarket, ten minute walk. The La Manga Strip is ten minutes drive with bars and restaurants and excellent for water sports. The La Manga club is a ten minute drive with 3 championship golf courses, bowls and tennis, also a spa. It also has restaurants and nightclub. The whole area is a haven for sport, especially water sports, golf and tennis. Fabulous mini golf for adults and children, ten minute drive. Excellent historic interest, especially Cartagena, 20 minutes drive away. Lovely diving/fishing port at Cabo, great restaurants there to on waters edge. The airport of Murcia is 20 kilometres away. Alicante is about an hour and a quarter and has many more flights from most European countries


Local Activities: Tennis, tennis club one road back from beach at Mar de Cristal. Many Golf Courses in area. Wide range of water sports, including, sailing, water skiing, wind-surfing and deep sea diving (Cabo de Palos is particularly good) paragliding, fishing, horse riding, go karting, bowls, short mat bowls, walking. Good cycle tracks. Most of the mentioned sports, excellent instruction available.

Places to visit

Calblanque nature reserve, beautiful beaches. Great for walkers and cyclists.
Los Belones for excellent restaurants, banks, post office and village shops.
Cabo de Palos charming fishing harbour with superb fish restaurants and a good Sunday market.
Cartagena with port, good shopping, departmental store and hypermarket. This is where Hannibal arrived with his Elephants so very interesting buildings and history, Reenactment every September. Excellent guided walking tours.
Various villages many at the coast for local markets.

Loved the Apartment!
Myself and the wife with our two teenage children stayed May half term. The weather was great and with the breeze on the amazing roof terrace you could lay out, relax, read books, drink wine and basically un-wind. Apartment has everything; Microwave and dishwasher are great additions to our resent apartment’s visits. Los Bolenes has some great restaurants. The Italian Pizza place in the square was 40 euro for 4 of us with wine and beer inc! The New English Gin bar The Juniper is lovely, Peter the owner was so nice-he even booked us into restaurants nearby. The Indian in the Square Bollywood Nights is a must. Weirdly in the UK we never go to an Indian but Peter recommended and it was lovely. All in all a lovely Holiday, great apartment and very spacious with the two bathrooms, 2 showers etc. Mar De Cristal Beach is so child friendly it is just like a lake! No waves. Highly recommended! Desde el comienzo ha sido una experiencia maravillosa, la entrega de llaves se adecuó a la hora que llegamos y nos explicaron todo con detalle. La casa en buena ubicación, a 10 minutos andando del mar menor y a 10 en coche del mediterráneo, con grandes supermercados a 5 minutos en coche, toda la experiencia muy grata. Una casa recomendable 😉

An Apartment to relax and unwind
A wonderful holiday spent relaxing, whether it was on the superb beach or just on the roof terrace, the apartment had everything. A big thank you to Valerie for letting us stay there. I would definitely recommend this to our friends. A car is a must though, pick it up from the airport on arrival, drop off before coming home otherwise taxi fee will be close to £100 there and back for a family of 3.

Amazing apartment
We had a lovely week in this apartment, very homely, spacious and well looked after. An added extra was the roof terrace, really open, light and again spacious, great for bbq's. We would defiantly recommend this apartment.

Really comfortable property in the typically Spanish town of Mar de Cristal .
Just back from a week in Mar de Cristal staying at Val's three bed penthouse apartment. The apartment is very comfortable, equipped to a high spec, fully functional kitchen and three spacious bedrooms with a fully linked lounge area leading out onto a terraced balcony overlooking the farmland and the village of Los Belones and La Manga Club in the distance. The rooftop terrace is fantastic with a great Barbeque space, plenty of room to catch the rays and a comfortable seating area providing shade where necessary. We were a group of six and never felt cramped for space. Wifi in the apartment is great as is the satellite TV providing a wide array of English channels. Access to the apartment is easy via the lift or for the more energetic the stair case. The communal pool was great and kept at a pleasant temperature. Information in the apartment folder was good with plenty of maos and info. Mar de Cristal is a pleasant village with a lovely beachfront and a brilliant padel Tennis club with cafe / bar where anyone is made to feel more than welcome. If you are looking for tennis coaching Miguel and his team speak great English and are happy to accommodate all standards (mdztennisacademy.com) The club also operates a great gym and classes on a pay as you go basis. Mar de Cristal is a great centre for exploring this area of Spain, Cartagena is within 20 minute drive, Cabo de Polos has a picturesque harbour and restaurants but the coastline from Cabo to Calblanque is spectacular and should not be missed. Cycling in the area is excellent smooth road services and some really interesting off road in the former mining areas of Portman and Le Union excellent bike hire service run by Geoff at the La Manga Club (Biking La Manga). Thanks Val for renting us the apartment we will be back 🤓

Beautiful property, lovely owner
We really enjoyed our stay - the apartment was great, in a quiet area and the private roof terrace is fabulous. Valerie, the owner, was really helpful and quick to answer any questions before our holiday, and Pete and Jan were very welcoming and gave us the keys and showed us how everything worked once we arrived at the apartment. It was really easy, we loved our stay here and we would thoroughly recommend this holiday home. Thanks for having us!

Very Relaxing Holiday
Chose this apartment based on location and good reviews and I must say we were not disappointed. Apartment spacious and adequate room for the 4 of us with a large rooftop terrace ideal for crashing out and reading or listening to music as well as the smaller terrace which was great for breakfast or lunch. Apartment very clean and all amenities provide although the TV could do with being a bit bigger as it was hard to watch the football which was on for 2 nights whilst we were there that was a minor point. As it was getting to the end of the season Mar De Cristal was very quite and there was only one restaurant open which was the Italian one which was very good but in the town of Los Belones which is literally 5 minutes drive away there are restaurants to suite everyone from Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Italian, English and of course Spanish and every one offered excellent food and service at reasonable prices. Beach at Mar De Crisal lovely with a great beach bar at the end which did great snacks at lunch time and we had a couple of late evenings there just sitting and looking out at the sea with a beer in our hand. Due to one of our party getting injured a few days before travelling we were unable to get any golf in but on driving around found it is an ideal location for golf with many top courses within 30 minutes drive away. Overall an excellent holiday with both location and accommodation great and we will certainly consider returning again in the future.

Perfect Location
We have stayed on 2 occasions at Ribeira Beach and were keen to return. As there were more of us we found this superb apartment with a roof terrace. The apartment was excellent. It was clean and tidy and was perfectly equipped for self catering. The roof terrace was private and offered lovely views. Overall I would say this apartment is ideal for holidays where you want everything accessable. Its only a half hour drive from Murcia airport and there is easy access to beaches and supermarkets. Its also a great location for sports enthusiasts.

Riberia Beach apartment
Returned from holiday about a week ago , still cannot over the fantastic views we had from both the balcony and the `private` roof terrace. The apartment was clean and very well stocked with all essential utensils ,crockery and glassware you would need !Excellant apartment clean , modern sat tv cooker hob dishwasher , has everything it says on the ad , my only dislike was , because there were only two of us in the apartment , which had three double bedrooms , ther was only two sets of towels available , not a big problem really , we washed them every couple of days in the machine and dried in under two hours in the blistering heat on the roof terrace .If you are lookig for a quiet getaway just to chill and do absolutely nothing this it . The most exciting we saw every day was the local goat herd passing , thats how quiet it is , except the occasional fly past by the Spanish Red Arrows display team , they fly over quite low , so if you are sunbathing on the terrace beware what you are wearing !Overall a splendid apartment to have a realxing holiday < my wife have stayed in Mar De Cristal several times and in this apartment twice , and I must say this is my favourite and has the most stunning views. Whenever some asks me about my holiday I recommend this , hope thsi review helps you in making your decison,go for it its Perfect !

First class holiday spot!
Visited this apartment 3 times and can't fault it. Equipped to a high standard, it's roomy and (most important!) the beds are comfortable. If you really want a suntan there is a secluded sun terrace with good views. Very handy for Murcia airport which is only 13 miles along the coast. Mar De Cristal is a small town that has not been overdeveloped like some Spanish resorts but it has everything you could require within 5 mins of the apartment. Good walking area if you follow the road to the left – and you can finish up, as we did last time, at one of the bars overlooking the lagoon, having a drink in the sunshine. But what we most enjoy about the apartment is waking up on a spring morning and having a leisurely breakfast on the balcony while taking in the stunning views over the fields to the hills of Calblanque nature reserve. (Birdwatchers should note there is a colony of Audoin's gulls down at the Salinas on the shore at Calblanque.) We also enjoy a ride down the La Manga strip to the tip where the Mediterranean meets the Mar Menor – good shoes needed as it can be muddy! The Roman amphitheatre at Cartagena, which is currently being restored, is well worth a visit. To gain access you need to go to the museum near the marina - although you can climb some steep steps and peek over the wall. Boat trips are available from the marina in Cartagena. So, to finish, if you want a good holiday place and an excellent apartment, this is it!

Peace and sunshine all year round
My husband and I stayed here last year and again earlier this year. It has everything you could want for a holiday, and we would recommend it to anyone. Sitting out at night watching the twinkling lights of the nearby villages is so relaxing. Swimming in the pool or nearby sea is perfect. If you want nightlife and activities they are there too, so you can choose. We will certainly be returning. Helen & Toby
